Date: 2009-10-05 12:53 am (UTC)Plotwise, I have a couple problems with this - One, IIRC Yasemin was some kind of arms dealer, wasn't she? So how did she get out of prison in time for OYL? Two, just like in Huntress: Year One, here we have Helena, whose life is well established to depend on maintaining her cover, being incredibly blase about a villain knowing her secret identity. What's up with that?
(I'm going off memory here, regarding this story arc, so please correct me if those things were actually dealt with.)

Date: 2009-10-05 01:06 am (UTC)was /very/ glad Helena felt the same way. though I'm sure she'd go back to school, have trouble with the kids, and then think, "Why do I love them again?" ;)

Date: 2009-10-05 03:29 am (UTC)That being said, I thought one of the most interesting things about this story is that, before this, Canary was only thinking about quitting the Birds, but almost right after, she announces that she's quitting, effective immediately. (I'll post scans, if people want.)
That's interesting to me, because this incident is, as far as I can recall, the first time that Dinah has really seen Helena's dark side. And look at the expression on Dinah's face in that last panel: it's plain just how dismayed she is by what she's seeing. So I wonder, to what extent did this incident finalize her decision to leave the Birds? Especially when you think about the conversation they have on the roof as Dinah was leaving.
Lastly, I'm glad we're having a Huntress is awesome week, because have I got some stuff to post.

Date: 2009-10-05 05:30 pm (UTC)Except for the headwings, this is a much more practical costume for the urban vigilante thing. Besides the purple of course, but eh, purple can blend better into shadows than black can, at times.
