Hey, all, the Scans Daily online archive is back up, and there's no need for a password any more. Also, I've been meaning to mention this, I managed to snag a chunk of the scans from the old SD, not all, but a chunk of the 20,000+ posts. It's about 30GB, and I had to nurse the script along to make it work, so I'm not sure how to share it...but I am open to ideas.

Is he stilla round, when they reintroduce the original Toyman, it was shown that Hiro was one of the robot doubles that manages to fool Superman.

Too many people try to say one person is all bad or good, there's levels dammit! Even Liefeld can't be completely put down, fella made Deadpool,Cable and Domino afterall! (Though lotsa people seem to hate Cable but meh)

Bad choice. Liefeld designed the look for those characters. No one is really in love with the look. It's the characterization other people gave them that is loved.

As regards Loeb, he's lost a lot of skill, especially after his son died, but his eulogies for Captain America were still pretty good.

However, speaking for myself, I never cottoned to Hiro. He's just several walking cliches mixed together into something that almost, but not quite, becomes an original creation.

That's not entirely true. Hiro debuted in Superman #177 during Loeb's run and his expertise with machines (and his obssession with getting his grandpa's Metallo back) was evident even then.

Hmmm... Hiro/Atlee. That just might work. It'd be cute as a barrel of puppies, that's for sure. And weren't they both in the 2nd incarnation of The Titans of Tomorrow? The one with the blonde Charlie taking up the mantle of Huntress?

Charlie Huntress cracked me up, especially hen thy referenced it near the end of the BoP with Charlie going "I totally want to be like you Huntress, but maybe with fishnets too and I'll do something with my hair"

Or Beetle mentioning her when Misfit came into the Tower
Beetle: "Didn't I fight a blond you?"
Misfit: "Was I awesome?"

But yes I now want Hiro to show up in the Powergirl title. It'd be glorious.

I actually liked that S/B arc, mostly because it's where they introduced the Lil' Leaguers.

And Hiro! I liked his role in S/B. Even if he is the panting fanboy. What happened to him outside the series, anyway?

I know I've said it before (and recently), but I kind of wish that they'd take up Hiro right up where the last story implicitly left him*: as a robot. If that's not a situation ripe for some form of the "rebellious AI" theme, I don't know what is.

I might be the only one who thinks that having one Toyman who's also a toy in a sense would be kind of fitting, in a way.

Yeah, Toyman just happens to build an exact human android, that Sperman couldn't tell with his X-Ray vision, let alone the smell the oil and metal or the sound of the hydraulic and ears fo the bot with his super senses, and he even does the same thing with Branianc. He never really fought him, just his probes...

Thanks very much for the restore. Through it i was able to find a wonderful poison ivy story -- Cast Shadows. I loved it so so much that I've already hunted down a copy through Amazon.
