I notice Loki is no longer based on Neil Gaiman and apparently just trying to wage war rather than do any of his previous manipulation and spy characteristics. Oh, and Thor has eschewed Mjolnir, his hammer-axe, for...a hammer and an axe. Yah boo sucks.

Additionally, in the CBR interview where this comes from, Jeph comes off as a petulant little bitch, isn't he? Millar's big subtext to Ultimate Avengers has been about him & Ultimate Nick Fury returning to the Ultimate U to find it f*cked up, so the almighty White Lobe takes it upon him to declare that the Avengers "aren't really a group per se" and that his book is "bigger 'save the world' stuff than what Mark is doing".

I am desperate for Millar to outsell Loeb on this one. Desperate. Don't be a fool. Don't buy for the art. Buy for the WRITING.

To be fair, I think Millar said something similar. The team in his book are more like the shadow ops, where the team in Loeb's is the public one.

Man, the whole team except Thor just looks really unmotivated and irritated. Even Iron Man's faceplate looks bored. Steve's just... refusing to take it all seriously.
