We've already posted all the pages we can for a new comic. This goes over the limit.

Ah, Wonder Woman and breaking necks. There were probably other ways to kill the monster, but why avoid the classics?

Once you pop you can't stop...

I remember an old Remo Williams novel (guilty pleasure, that) where there's an early measure that a skull being crushed makes a "pong" sound. Later, when Remo is coming to find Chiun, he crushes a few bad-guy heads in the middle of a big battle scene. Chiun asks where he's been, and he replies that he's been playing Pong.

Chiun decided he likes this game.

What happened to Scandal's shoes? Did shooting up with Venom cause them to get torn off her feet, werewolf style? And more importantly, why didn't that happen with the rest of her clothes? This issue had a clear lack of polkadot boyshorts!

Sigh, of all the times not to have a foot fetish.

I don't have a foot fetish.

But when Nicola Scott draws such nice feet, it seems a shame.

I loved the Bane/Scandal dynamic in this story and it seems that Vandal got what she wanted, THE Bane who is not distracted by love. Although his first act does seem to be protective against Vandal in his own way. Hoping that we will get to see Bane in his might and cunning.

At the same time I'm not completely certain I feel about Diana's role in the story. Ultimately I think the title should make it's main character's look good and strong, and while there were great moments with them, a lot of the situations and threats seem to be ultimately handled by the Bana's and/or Diana instead of showcasing the team. While I do understand the role they played, it does leave me a bit conflicted.

Also, I don't have full context, but why is Diana okay with killing demons, but she didn't kill Genocide?

Interesting point you bring up - what, in Diana's definition, is a demon? I'd think Genocide would qualify by pretty much any standards you wanted to use.

1. Breaking Grendel's neck may only be a quick way to neutralize him, if he heals anything like Scandal does.

2. Will we seem the team split? Jeanette, Deadshot and Bane against the others?

Gail likes playing on team configuration, including making people leave. That doesn't mean we won't see Scandal anymore (the opposite, in fact); just that we're not going to fall asleep on the certainty that everything is well and unchanging in Secret Six land.

I really hate the "What Measure Is A Non Human" trope.

On the other hand, I like the "where possible" addition.

Well.

There is Aaron Stack, both Visions, Red Tornado, the Metal Men, Skeets, Robotman, Jocasta, Danger the sentient chunk of the Danger room, and I'm probably missing someone.

And do cyborgs count? Because if so, well, Cyborg. And probably Cable.

I've said it before, but I have a personal attachment to the character of Grendel from Beowulf (thanks to Jon Gardner's novel Grendel) and I'm always a little twitchy about seeing him represented as a straightforward monster rather than an archetypal manifestation. The notion that his lineage of Cain makes him related by blood to Scandal is an interesting idea, but again, it ties Grendel down too much for my taste, makes him too simple. His perfunctory dismissal by Wondy's patented neck-snap doesn't sit quite right with me either.

Not that any of this makes this story less interesting to me; Secret Six is, and I suspect will continue to be, one of my favorite comics currently seeing publication. But any use of Grendel always makes me a little overprotective.

You know, I've always meant to read Gardner's book, especially since I heard it was one of the inspirations for Matt Wagner's Grendel Cycle.

To the original poster - Is the Secret Six Grendel confirmed to be dead? If so we can probably rely on his mom showing up later on.
