At least on this cover, they actually look like real, albeit large, boobs. That first pic you put up (the other is a red dot for me) just looks like something that was glued to her chest.

One thing for me that says PG is being treated right is recognizing that yeah, she has big boobs, and unapologetically showing her like that, yet not treating her as some sort of bimbo or sex doll. From what I've been hearing here, that's what's happening now.

Before I say what I want to say, please don't get me wrong. I think Amanda Connner was born to draw Power Girl. I love the little additions that she's made to the costume, like the gold trim on the gloves and the buckles on the boots. There's a lot to like in her work and costume design.

That said, the cover is...pretty underwhelming. Sure, it looks good, but I don't get it. What is she supposed to be punching? And where is the person that she'd just punched? What do the swirls in the background really add to the piece?

I guess I'm a fan of the old, dynamic covers where there's something taking place on the cover that gives a hint of the story within.

Yeah, the whole "blocking the background" in the beginning is wierd too--we're used to seeing that when there's supposed to be something important, but then finding out that it's just a blue background is kind-of anti-climatic.

The colors and shading are far better in the second version, though.

Swirly purple is much better than matte black and it amuses me because it looks like she's punching the stars.

I unrepentantly love Powergirl. Strangely enough, because she reminds me of my sister (well, if she were 5'1 and Black but the hair cut and the boobs are the same). That sounds weird but it's true (though there's not weird and/or sexual about it).

Well, the boob window is really too big, and she's kind of duck footed, but holy crap she is adorable. And I love the way the fabric actually seems to be affected by the weight of her breast. It's almost... well, realistic.
