For Punisher Week, we've seen the Punisher take on the Runaways. Now let's set the Wayback Machine to 1988 and see him take on both Power Pack and Cloak & Dagger in STRANGE TALES (Vol. 2) #12-14.

This just goes to show: Always try to do what the Kingpin wants you to, even if it will probably kill you.

The kids in Power Pack were pretty sharp. Yes, they had a tendency to do things on their own instead of calling in the "adult" superheroes, but it was the 1980s.

The kids decide to stop Punisher from reaching the church where C&D hang out. Being little kids, they have worse luck than Peter Parker in that regard.

Most "street level" heroes take public transportation. They just usually ride on the roof.

Dagger is talking to her Uncle Mike, a character introduced in NEW MUTANTS. Dagger's stepfather is worried about her, not knowing about the whole "super-powered vigilante" thing.

Some heroes are so picky about destroying churches. Why, Norman Osborn would flatten that church in 30 seconds, have Bullseye or Daken murder all the witnesses, and then have the site rebuilt as a HAMMER recruiting station. Because that's how he rolls.

As he often does, the Punisher starts... acting rationally, putting down his machine gun and being NICE to everyone?

...

THE WORLD DOESN'T MAKE SENSE ANYMORE!!!

Think we'll get a POWER PACK: WAR JOURNAL miniseries from Marvel in 2010 or 2011?

The Punisher has a wonderful mix of "I can understand a father's desire to protect his daughter" and "Bitch, please" on his face when confronted by Dagger's stepfather.

Hey, what about the guy who tried to put this in motion in the first place?

The Kingpin could write a book on how to manipulate Daredevil and Spider-Man. But the Punisher is not as easy to manipulate.

Can we please? That'd be hilarious.

Uh, you sure about that? Because I don't recall that scene being scanned here, and I tried to look for that scene by clicking on the Punisher Week tag, and nothing.

Whoa, if I'm a member of the comm and IJ, why in the H-E- double hockey sticks would people have flocked posts that our members can't see? Are some of us more equal than others?

I don't think you can filter a comm's posts? It's likely just IJ being erratic, I followed a link to a locked post and couldn't get in, and when I tried it the next day it was all right?

The Punisher should never fight rainbows. That's just as mind-disturbing as Miss Piggy eating pork products in a Denny's commercial (it happened).

This was adorable. Nice to see Frank here is still in touch with his humanity.. (No pun intended..given current events.)
