AKA, Cass has actual friends!... Who aren't Conner, Steph or Babs!

Hypocritically, Ollie has murdered people in the past, and he wasn't under mind control at the time, like Cass was revealled to be. Though his particular beef with the LoA is caused by Merlyn's attempt on his life during Infinite Crisis and their attempt to kidnap Dinah's adopted daughter, Sin.

Though he responded to the latter by kidnapping her himself, faking her death and let Dinah think that Sin was dead for seveal days before revealling that she was now living in a remote abbey that Dinah isn't allowed to see.

Later on Ollie attempts again to outright murder Cass when her new friends Katana and Metamorpho aren't around, though I'm afraid I don't have scans at the moment due to loosing the issue amongst my stacks. XP

I do have this kind of creepy photoshop though.

As far as I can remember (it's been a while) Ollie didn't mack on Cass in, what looks like, an unwelcome way, during 'Batman and the Outsiders', he just resorted to the aforementioned attempted murder and making unpleasant comments about her instead.

Ollie, hypocritical? Well, I'm shocked!

Yeah, he's always seemed to be the kind of guy who wouldn't complain about fat cats while being immensely weathly, and then yelling at his girlfriend/wife for having boyfriends who aren't him when they aren't a couple.

Say Ollie what do you call shooting a point non-trick arrow at someone's chest from about three feet away? What was that? "Killing"? Very good.

Whilst I've never liked Green Arrow, and yes his hypocrisy irritates the crap out of me, wasn't the point of Quiver that Hal brought Ollie back from a point PRIOR to his ever having killed anyone? Has his killed anyone since he came back?

True, but by the end of the first story arc, his soul (which did bear the responsibility for that death) was reunited with his body.

At the end of Quiver, Ollie's soul merged with the Ollie-shell, so yes-- this Ollie killed people.

Oh dear god that photoshop! I scrolled down before I read your text and, well, let's just say my screen is thankful I wasn't drinking anything! LOL

IIRC, the confrontation with Ollie ends with him forming a "haha, she could kick my ass so she's all right!" kind of attitude, though he was still a jerk to her.

I love that Katana and Metamorpho were her buddies here though. They need to team up with Cass again, kthx.

I liked that it wasn't just for this one South American storyline, and Cass and Katana actually continued to be friends for the remainder of the book. :)

I'd like to think that Cass is crashing on her couch until she shows up for whatever "big thing" they've repeatedly said they have planned for her next year.

I think that it's her helping to find Bruce, but it probably isn't.

Doesn't get better with time. Still bugs the hell out of me that Cass just stood there when Katana came from behind. Either she got tired of living for a moment, or she's wearing a kevlar bra, or she trusts Katana like no one else in the world, or something.

Love that she doesn't speak, though. And this image:

Cass's gimmick is that she reads body language, she would have KNOWN that Katana wasn't intending to harm her, but assist her.

That struck me as strange too. Perhaps the author wanted to show Cass's guilt? Like she agreed with Ollie on this and didn't want to fight? Or perhaps she saw Katana brace for movement and decided to let her do the defending since communication isn't Cass's strong point.

Katana shouldn't be allowed to design her own uniforms. (The current version she has in Outsiders is nice, and is leagues better than the various uniforms she's had over the years.)

Exactly.

Though in this series Ollie reacted to Batman's apparent death in RIP by raiding Bruce's wine cellar, so he's generally kind of an asshole here. That and the vaguely homophobic comments he made at Grace Choi, though I cant' remember what they were.

I always thought Ollie didn't really intend to kill her, something that's been supported by the later confrontation, where they tussle again, exchange a few blows, Ollie totally gets one over Cass by rattling her emotional cage, and then finally saves her from being eaten by a crocodile. And I KNOW quite a few people will now cry "FOUL" and be on a holy crusade against the writer of this who dared to not let Batgirl shine and even not make her easily defeat someone not as likable (no matter the decades of experience he's got on her and being the guy with the best aim in all of the DCU), but that's what happened *shrug*

Can someone please explain to me why anyone would find this guy likeable? I am sincerely baffled.

Dinah once called Cass "a dear friend" in BOP, not to mention having learnt from her. You wife's going to be pissed off you tried to kill her friend, Ollie. Or, considering what happened with Sin, possibly not.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE REMEMBER THAT KANTANA IS A WOMAN IN HER FORTIES? She looks like Judomaster here. I liked her original costume in BaTO much better - it reflected on her samurai roots and maternal personality.

One of the many things I hated about the Dinah/Ollie marriage was that it made her look stupid and the whole run of BoP showed she was anything but. Ollie is a tool and not in a Bruce Wayne way (Bruce has parental "issues"), in the sense that Ollie knows how he acts and does it anyway and many in his "family" seem to give him a pass after awhile even if they are mad with him to start. I can't believe they broke up her relationship with a nice sweet (and brilliant) guy like Doc Midnite just so she could get back with Ollie the minute he was returned to life (and then he cheated on her with a one-night stand with Black Lighting's niece - so that worked out well, huh, Dinah?)

As for Katana, I think we're supposed to forget how old she is (in the Brave and the Bold cartoon they have her as a teen) so she can be seen as more relatable, hence her friendship with 20 year old Cass or the fact that Damien thinks she's hot.
