[ADMIN] Welcome/FAQ Masterlist.

Welcome to Scans_Daily!

Love comics and comic scans? Want to talk about them with other people? Then you're in the right place!

We like to think we're a friendly group here, but we do have some rules. If you've just joined this community, we hope you've at least read the Userinfo by now – you'll want to check out the FAQs below as well. If you're a returning member, welcome back! Please reread the rules and FAQs anyway: we do make occasional changes and you'll want to keep up to date.

Our community ethos is one of mutual respect and striving to provide an atmosphere which is LGBT-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harrassment free. We don't allow personal attacks towards each other or comics creators, but the mod team encourages members to call out oppressive or discriminatory behavior or texts.

	That's not actually possible in a community. However, Dreamwidth does allow you to automatically take new users to a certain post upon joining, so we've set that function to this post. There's also a link to it at the top of the profile and in every mod post. Actually, on DW, you can make a sticky note in communities. Not sure if this is something you want to do but it's an option.

If you go to this page: http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/settings/?cat=display and put the url of this post in the field for ID or URL of post to make sticky, this post will always be at the top.

One thing I've noticed, however, is that it will duplicate the post on the Recent Entries view -- you'll have a sticky post and the post as it is regularly. They're the same post (ie if you comment on one, it'll show up at both) but they just duplicate. I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature.

	As it happens, we tested it out and found it too intrusive even after playing around with cut text and stuff, so we're going to stick with the "take new member to this post" feature (so useful!) and a link in the sidebar. You can't see 18+ posts at all or do you mean you see the warning notice that you have to click through to see 18+ posts?

If it's the latter, go to this page: http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/settings/?cat=display

There's a line that says Viewing Adult Content followed by "Require confirmation." That should be set to "never."

If it's the former, alas, I have no clue.

I feel like this is such a dumb question, but I've never posted before so I just want to make sure that I don't mess it up. I want to post scans from the newest Tiny Titans (since I checked the tags and TT doesn't get nearly enough Scans love!) but I want to make sure I'm figuring the 1/3 rule properly. There are 24 pages total (including cover, bonus poster in the back, kids drawings/fan letters, and promo for other comics in the back). Does that mean I can post 8 pages? Or is it only pages with actual panels that counts towards the 1/3 rule? :-[

Thanks for being so patient. You don't need to count covers at all. As for inside material, please don't post more than 1/3rd of the content in total, but you can count the story and bonus material as separate stories and post 1/3rd of each as well. So if the story is standard length, you can post 7 pages from that, and then 1/3rd of however many bonus pages there are. Thanks for asking about this; we'll try and clarify this on the next rewrite.

I was thinking...see, I have this little webcomic here:

And I was thinking I could perhaps post some of them here on scans-daily?
I mean, if it's okay with you, it does feature plenty of s-d favorites (Booster/Blue Beetle adventures, etc..)
And my poor lil' webcomic-blog doesn't get much attention since I promote it so badly :P
