All the pre-flight checks have been done, the crack is up to capacity, so we'd like to welcome you on board Scans_Daily 3.0 at Dreamwidth.

Before we officially declare the community open for posting, we have a few people to thank.

Firstly, mark and denise of Dreamwidth. Mark put in an incredible amount of work behind the scenes for us, ensuring that the import of the community was possible and went through smoothly, while Denise was always helpful during the initial stages when we talked about migrating here. We'd like to thank them for going above and beyond to welcome the community here and for answering all our many questions.

There are also a number of community members to thank for their help with the move across: stubbleupdate, parsimonia (AKA mad at Dreamwidth), and foxhack for writing previous FAQs which we've shamelessly cannibalized, and kingrockwell for providing suggestions and input on the Walkthrough. We'd also like to thank foxfirefey for help with tweaking the layout. We also have to thank all our many volunteers who are the unsung heroes of the community, and thanks to those who've stepped forward during the move offering further assistance.

Of the mods, skalja must be thanked for her especially hard work updating the FAQs.

Just a couple of minor issues still to be resolved - all posts and links should be functional, but there may be a few technical glitches as we iron things out with Dreamwidth. If you encounter any problems, please let us know via dailyscans[at]gmail[dot]com.

Currently members cannot edit their imported posts using OpenID, but that should be resolved this week at the next Dreamwidth code push.

Before people busy posting, we'd suggest they take a look over our revised userinfo and the FAQ Masterlist. While we haven't been any major overhauls, there are a few tweaks to the posting gudelines to take advantage of Dreamwidth's functionality, particularly the option to set Age Restrictions on NSFW material.

And now, without further ado, we'd like to declare the new Scans_Daily open for posting. We would like to declare this a special WEEK OF CELEBRATION, where we encourage our members to post all those things that make Scans_Daily... special. The perfect opportunity to post that those cracktastic scans, that slash, context is for the weak, funny porn and whatever else you feel will scar us all for life entertain the community!

Oh, and on an entirely different note, we do suggest that all our members take a gander at the slightly tweaked userinfo, the new FAQ masterlist, and all that good stuff. There haven't been any grand overhauls in policy but we've made some minor changes to the posting requirements to take advantage of Dreamwidth's functionality, put out a call for some new volunteer positions, and greatly expanded the posting tutorial.

You might put in the FAQ somewhere a link to dw_codesharing, where people can request invites. Or put up a permanent post for people to request & offer scans_daily invites.

(If anyone wants one, I have invites. I have a seed account and expect to pretty much always have at least a few invites. Right now, I have lots.)
