Dark Reign - The List: Amazing Spider-Man #1

So basically Spider-Man breaks into Norman Osborn's headquarters and discovers video footage of Norman performing experiments on human test subjects. Norman, suited as the Iron Patriot, battles Spider-Man (and gets the crowd to turn on Spidey) but Spider-Man escapes.

True. I guess he'd just have to keep showering them with scientists and experts testifying he's clean, or that they've made sure it couldn't happen again.

The public in Marvel Universe aren't the brightest people in the world as evidenced many many times.

Actually why hasn't Stark tried using said nanites on him yet?

The writers probably don't remember it.

Maybe Stark doesn't have access to control them anymore. He's fallen quite a bit from grace as far as I've heard (I don't really keep track of him though).

He didn't try to use the nanites in a plan that might stop Osborn and leave him fully alive before trying the plan that leaves him brain dead?

Nope. If I remember the plotline correctly (it dragged on way too long, so my memory's fuzzy), Osborn got handed a spy agency by the government, declared Tony a wanted man over his failure to handle the invasion properly, and Tony took the superhero database so that Osborn couldn't (because we all knew he would try) access it without a federal warrant, and then mindwiped himself. Yay for more idiot balls.
