There's room for another Duela in the current DC multiverse. This one's supposed to be from Earth-3, I think. There may be an Antimatter Universe one running around that's still breathing.

First, it looks like Donna is actually slapping Robin on the cover.
Secondly, I can't seem to shake the feeling that this version of Duela is exactly what Michael Jackson would have evolved into had he not passed away...

Oh my god! I miss Duela so much! D:

Isn't it weird that the new Justice League is going to be the Teen Titans bossed around by Hal and Ollie?

Yeah, like that's going to last. I believe Dick has been around longer than either of them. At best, they'll let the old fogeys THINK they're running the place....

I must be the only one who thinks Duela is creepy as fuck.

And the fact that Robin likes her so much is even WORSE. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaarghle.

Well she looks creepy here I admit, but the redesign she got just before she was killed was adorable.

Her way of compensating for being the supposed daughter of a homicidal maniac...was pretending to be the supposed daughter of another homicidal maniac.

Nurse? The screens, if you please. This one's staying for a looong time...

Not really, she took on a variety of "Daughter of..." roles "Penguin's Daughter, "Scarecrone" (A name I like a lot), Catgirl, and the like... as part of a test to see if Robin would spot the one villain she didn't become a variant of was Two-Face.

As soon as she was accepted she dropped the "Joker's Daughter" bit, but became the Harlequin, because, presumably, she liked the non-lethal Joker gimmicks and style best.

Points for the puntastic musical cameos. That being said, if some of the older members don't mind, were teenagers in the late 70's really fans of Wings or the Carpenters?

I have to say I was quite the fan of Wings during that time, including owning several albums, and I was 14 in 1979.

It makes me wonder how they chose which people to go with. The Carpenters, especially, is choosing a type very different than, say, Kiss.

I like the art on the Rich Buckler cover much better than the interior art (Irv Novick, I expect better things from you!), but I must say, Robin does not seem to be trying terribly hard to kill Donna there. Donna's more in the spirit of things, but something about the poses and the looks on both their faces just says "HATESEX!!!!" to me.

I really miss when the Teen Titans were like this - basically a kid gang who fought goofy foes and had a blast doing it. I know, I know, there's no bringing back the past, but I wish someone would create another group like that. I need more fun, wisecracking superteams in my life, dangit!

So, um, call me clueless, but who the heck is Mal? Is he some kind of Herald precursor?

Yup, except that Mal as the Herald is a retcon, prior to that he had gone by the name "Hornblower" (I kid you not).

Mal's bio can be found here
