The cancellation of Young justice was a sin against comic fandom committed by DC. The burned it on the bonfire that said "no, the dc teen heroes book has to be the Teen Titans and nothing else". Awful, just awful...

The thing is, people rail about how the '90's sucked for comics, but just about all of the things this community likes were available in spades back then. Heroes acting like heroes? Yes, they had that. Comedy relief? Ooh, they had that, too! Strong female heroes? Yes. Serious drama that didn't take itself TOO seriously? Yep yep yep. If DC and Marvel had built logically on what the '90's had brought to the table, we'd be much happier campers right now. Instead, they tossed it all out the window, and now we're living in grim grim grimsville. Bleh.

I will admit to being a 90's hater. I do not believe that everything sucked( the 90's gave us Vertigo, and fun anime type books),just that the dollars dictated some lousy choices being made in the short term of how expand sales. ( grim gitty mercenary types with clinched teeth)

Oh, I'm certainly not saying they were perfect times - just that they had enough that was good about them to be noteworthy. If the positive, fun aspects had been expanded upon instead of the negative ones, we'd all be a lot happier now.

I think the problem is that the ’90s label includes both the overstuffed, overhyped, and oversold magazines at the start of the decade, when there was a collecting bubble, and the more interesting and varied titles that came out later after everyone had taken a deep breath and counted how many limbs they had left.

Well, yeah, a decade's a long time, and it means something different to just about everybody. Speaking personally, I didn't really get into comics until the mid-to-late '90's - '96 or so, at least - so I pretty much missed the feeding frenzy at the beginning of the decade.
