It was nice to see some truly creative power usage rather than, "Everyone just hit it!"

(Though even with control over her powers, shouldn't it still knock her "victims" out?)

The issue itself was less suckastic than usual, even through the dialog remains in a ranking of bad that should be designated "Fraction bad".

She only knocks people out if she takes too much of their lifeforce. With control over her powers she'd only ever do that when she meant to.

And once again, the X-Kids are useless and serve only as power suply for Super Rogue. For once, Mercury could have been usefull, using the fact that teh Predator's skin has been created for her power. But no...
Perhaps I should stop reading X-Titles. Sick and tired to see the same characters keeping the spotlights after over 20 years.

Good point. It is time to shuffle some older characters off stage, but no one can seem to commit to it.

But the New X-Men really have not had a lot of training, and when they got into a real fight in Messiah Complex, they ended up barely escaping with their lives. So this was not too far out of line for me.

Didn't Mercury kill one Predator before by taking back its skin?  But I think it was a bit much for her at the time?  Of course, she'd been tortured for awhile by then.

While I agree the spotlight needs to shift the kids don't deserve it nor could they handle it for long.

That is pretty awesome, although it's pretty weird if you keep looking back and forth between Emma and Rogue in the first panel.  They're mirror image faces.

There's a later page with a close-up of Mercury, and her eyes are regular-person blue eyes. It actually looks really creepy.

Dayum! That's awesome. I've always loved Rogue and especially when she gets creative.

An interesting thought is that Rogue has an advantage over any other power stealing person, seeing as she immidatly gets all the memories and experience of having used the powers before and that way already knows how to use them.
