What, not even a whole page?!

One page from Cry for Justice #5, as per request.

Yeah, so it totally wasn't worth slugging through a dozen pages of headdesk just for this. I normally don't mind sexily drawn or scantily dressed comics women, but Cry for Justice has exactly one normally dressed woman, and that is Joan Garrick.

Though there is something sweet about a Victorian going to space for the first time.

Shade is looking very... weatherbeaten, isn't he?

Which is weird as he looks like the regular one, if somewhat changed into this kinda painted style.

Batwoman's hair is brown too. <_<;

[personal profile] theanswer 2009-11-26 22:45 (UTC)(link)
Yeah, makes sense, but I think the colorist thought he was painting Ronnie and not Jason.

Her hair was back and forth between brown and red for awhile before Detective's artist made it an important feature (even the action figure is brown), and Batwoman was added into CFJ before Detective IIRC. I don't expect her to be well utilized in this series (not that anyone else is).

Perhaps, but I like this look for him. >_>

Meh, he's an immortal with a wide streak of vanity running through him, allowing himself to look old doesn't really seem like him.

I agree with this Uke, but couldn't it also be that in this case he wants to impart some knowledge and that he knows that humans equate wisdom with age == couldn't be that he's trying to subliminally influence them?

"Uke"?

Freudian slip? ;P

I would think he'd be a bit more unguarded with Jay than with most people though, so I could see him taking a look that's closer to the latter's age. So while it probably is an error on the artist's part I could see it working in context.

Aw, thank you! ^^

I wonder if this means that the Shade will be in the JLA's satellite next issue. :) He could meet Dr Light.

And smite the other Dr Light if he's still about.

Gotta live that the Shade is having tea or coffee with the Garricks. If only because he's one of the few characters that wouldn't be out of character for.

That seems like an awkward thing to do in a social situation, look down at your crotch and announce that you're being summoned.

I'd like to add, the angle on that frame looks like the camera is affixed to his, well... *cough*

Also, for a guy who wears bright primary colors, Jay's house is awfully brown!

Well the dude is in his 90's or 100's.

Not that I would tell Mrs. Garrick that. >.>

Is it weird that I kinda like that camera angle from Jay's crotch....

I wondered the same thing.

Which means (a) the artist made a mistake or (b) looks like another non-white character is about to go back to "normal." Grr.

Perhaps if it is post-BN, the new Firestorm is both Ronnie and Jason, and they trade off who's in control.

I think it's before BN. Vixen has her leg broken in the previous issue of JLA that leads into the BN issue. The note on that said she broke her leg in Cry

Panel 1: "I'd like to see that body. Could you bring it to the satellite?"

Worst pickup line evar, Ray. Plus, she don't swing that way.

I've noticed something about the Shade. When he's with older people like the GA Flash and wife, or anyone else in that age group, he looks old and tired. But when he's with younger people like Stargirl or whatever, he usually looks much younger. Wonder if that's done on purpose.

Hello,
Any hope of a couple of more scans from this issue? I am looking for the little panel with GL and GA fighting Black Manta and the page with Animal Man and Co showing up on the satellite. Thanks!
