I'm just waiting patiently for the crap about cars exploding when they catch fire to go away.

And waiting.

(Yes, cars can burn very hot, and very fact, but the odds of them exploding? Millions-to-one. You have a special device in your car designed specifically to mix gas and air in the exact ratio needed to cause it to explode.)

Not to say it's safe to leave a kid in that car, but risk of explosion is a dumb reason to not try and save it.
