and Psylocke? Was Claremont around then when she became Kwannon? But yeah, when his women become evil, they tend to amp up their power and it's always expressed in some sort of revealing get up, aka their ~sexuality~

I'm glad that he didn't get his hands on Marrow. But still, Chris, just... no.

Now I wonder if Illyana is going to have a moment where she feels the power how it roils and tumbles with her, and she's sipping on its head and drunk with it, until her teammates rally around her, and she ~shatters~

In Jean's case, she dies, in Storm's case, Angel saved her. Can't remember what happened to the rest. But there's always some reckoning, the character realises that she's gone too far and is saved by her teammates.

Well, he doesn't have 'em in the dominmatrix get up like back in the day.

Just once I'd like to see someone go evil and then decide to wear, I dunno, a really bulky coat so no skin is ever shown.

Isn't Starfire's sister in that mold? She wears more clothes than Starfire?

Of course I guess she could hardly wear less.

I know that it's par for the course in comic book land that all females go flesh. But Claremont is special in that, well the females start off fairly modest (apart from Storm). Psyloke used to wear this ghastly thing with leg of mutton sleeves, and Jean used to be marvel girl. Then all of a sudden, T&A galore, but evil.

It's just... his trope. Wholesome girls, get dictamized by power and then their inner freak comes out, or something.

Like I say, it's hardly restricted to Claremont. It's a trope of pretty much every comics creator ever. I honestly can't think of a single instance where a female character turning evil isn't also accompanied by hyper-sexuality.

I think that when Scarlet Witch got taken over by Cthon, her outfit became less revealing (well, a full body stocking as opposed to the strapless bathing suit, anyway).

I think he wanted to do something with a deaged Storm, but to be frank I'm not completely sure anything happened to her. I'm hoping someone else can chime in and clarify that.

Also, really young doesn't really have to mean "little kids". I think Kitty was 13 or 14...

It should be pointed out that Illyana had her 'evil years' that she spent in Limbo exorcised from her, basically, but she really was a fourteen-year-old (plus all the years with the New Mutants). I'd expect her to be about as old as Kitty, who is nearly legal at this point in space-time.

Making her an evil teenager again might've involved nothing more than summoning that exorcised bit, which would mean she isn't really a child at the moment.
