[personal profile] da_reap posting in [community profile] scans_daily
First post at the new place, thought I'd do my part.

This is from World's Funnest, and I think I actually got these scans once upon a time from Scans Daily 1.0, but it's well worth reposting!

Enjoy...

GodDAMN I love the bombastic writing here. It's so deliciously Kirbyesque!

And I still think this answer makes as much sense as any.

As a bonus, I'll throw in my absolute favorite picture of one of the greatest super-couples of all time...

What more need be said?

Morrison is slipping it seems he missed a small peice of continuity that no one remembers tsk tsk tsk.

That as the anti-life equation would have made Final Crisis awesome.

David Mazzuchelli was Jack Kirby all along? And no one told me? What a twist!

David Mazzuchelli can draw anything.

By the way, pick up his new one ASTERIOS POLYP. It's quite amazing.

It really is. Might well be the best comic I've read all year. Masterful stuff.

Love World's Funnest, one of a number of books I now own because of scans_daily.
Love Scott/Barda. Love Alan Davis. Love Alan Davis drawing Scott/Barda (okay honestly, between this and Another Nail, all i know Alan Davis for is Scott/Barda).

I think I loved them from the first time I stumbled across Kirby's Mister Miracle at the library.

I love this. I so would have liked to seen Morrison actually use this instead of what we actually got in Final Crisis.

My favorites are still the segment drawn by Miller (where it's clear he IS doing parody, rather than his more recent work where we're all uncomfortably waiting to be told it's all a joke - it's got to be... right?) and Bizarro World's one-panel cameo:

"WE AM DOOMED! YAYYY!"

I recall that was in his brief pro-indie comics period. It was good for some Sin City ink from the Comics Journal. Then he turned again.

Why is this Anti-Life Equation creepier than the one Morrison used in Final Crisis?
