MegaPost: Simpsons: the Best Radioactiveman Event Ever! part 1

The Simpsons comics have along history, and recently they been poking fun of anything comic book related, in terms of stories and fans. And they had a big story arc that was all about that in their 3 comic titles ( Simpsons Comics, Bart Simpson, and Simpsons Super Spectacular). And I am going to post some of their best jokes here. And I am staring off where the story starts in Simpsons Comics #155

I'll spare you the first pages of the comic that makes fun of the story arcs earlier this year (It was posted before) and move on to the plot.  Turns out Krusty Studios bought the RadioactiveMan comic (this was publish in around in June, when was the Disney/Marvel deal again?) until he learns from other rich-jerks that the comic is failing, so he gets a bunch of people together to brainstorm on how to sell Bart's #1 Superhero.

Huh, who do you think Krusty was back there? Didio or Quesada? Didio considered Countdown "52 Done Right" because the editor was in charge instead of the writers, as Quesada did the whole OMD-BS to lure in younger readers.

That's it for part one, wait until next time for part two.

I remember this event about events. Wow thats kind of meta for the Simpsons.

I did like the "shapeshifting alien Kruller" joke that you unfortunately left out.

Here's another question -- why even make a comic when you can read it online for free?

I dunno, but we're all doing it anyway. The internet has lead to an explosion of brilliant work, not the death of it. It sucks that we ain't gettin' paid as good as we want to but we're doing it anyway.

I'm not terribly worried about Bongo's financial health and they ain't worried about mine. The people who made this comic got paid and they don't get a royalty check worth mentioning any way you look at it. It's entirely inaccurate to conflate "I can read it online for free" and "the artists didn't get paid and don't find it worth while."

This is a review and discussion site. In order to review and discuss we need to see the works under discussion. Even under the 1/2 rule (which was bad enough and is neither more nor less in line with actual copyright law than the 1/3 rule) we still were a review and discussion site -- if you want to read the whole thing for free you torrent it, same as you always have. Nothing here will ever change that.

Ugh, motto. Between the rape jokes, the long gags and the Aquaman jokes, it's become unbearable to watch.

(I have no problem with a few Aquaman jokes, but they just do so many. We get it. You hate him. Get over it.)

It's times like these I wonder why I read comic books and bother with all of it.

I was over the Simpsons for a fair long while, but that there was truthful and vicious enough to make me think there's life in the old Poochie yet.

I remember reading that Curt Swan hated drawing legion and kept costume notes so he would get the details right for each character
