NOTE: This series is entirely collected in trade, to get the best feel of it I recommened tracking down the pair of 'em.
The story begins with Hawkgirl being rushed to hospital after getting run through with Kasumi's swords. Kasumi, however, is atop the hospital attempting to give an explanation for how it happened to a mysterious man in the shadows...

Naturally this doesn't do anything, and Mr Terrific tells Coldcast and his brother that if they hand over Aftermath, they'll be given clemency,

The teams fight. Hawkgirl recognises that the Nothing, aka Kasumi, is using Shadow Thief technology and promptly starts whaling on her,

The fight goes more or less okay, with the JLElite being careful not to actually hurt anyone and preventing Christopher from shooting Black Canary by the Flash snatching the bullets out of the air before they hit her. Ollie fires an arrow with a note attached at her to let her know it's an undercover op.

Eventually they descend to cause a distraction and escape, but just as Coldcast is beginning to use his powers a wasted Major Disaster shows up, causing Coldcast's powers to malfunction.

This causes a huge shockwave, causing Hawkgirl to accidentally get impaled on Kasumi's swords.

The action goes back to Kasumi on the rooftop,

DRAMATIC TWIST! :O

Also makes this scene from a previous issue kind of sad though,

Anyway, back to the issue at hand, and since the identity's been revealled I might as well just call her Cass now.

Vera is extremely pissed with Major Disaster for the... well, disasterous encounter with the JSA. She goes to punch him in the face with one of her various attachments, but is stopped by Manitou Raven and his magical medicene stick. Angrily she demands that he find out "tonight" who murdered President Bhat, and storms off to get her arm fixed.

Cass is packing her stuff to leave the group, and Nate decides to bond with her after seeing her "horrible scars",

The undercover members of the team have been invited to meet Aftermath, who has been impressed by their spetacular "defeat" of the JSA.

Entering his base through a magic-ish door in Nate's brother's house, the team promptly disappear from Naif's radar as they are now on a giantic, galleon-shaped spaceship in the depths of space.

They see that there are thousands of drug addicts on board the ship, each with a mysterious glowing hole above their chest.

They meet Aftermath, complete with a special guest,

Wolfwood? The cannibalistic werewolf assassin who can see through Vera's disguises? And who also murdered (and presumably are) Naif's wife and kids? *dramatic music*

And yeah, this guy is very much an Authority villain. Few other series would have a supervillain monologue about how stoned he is.

Except for Snowflame of course.
