You know, there's actually some good advice tucked in there on that first one. Organising your schedule ahead of time is just a good general idea. Although it's not her fault if the bus is late (apparently public transport stuck to its schedule back in the day. What a thought), but this would've been pre-mobile phone, so eh. And no wonder Silly Milly got stood up. Keeping someone waiting like that is just bad manners.

Still, all this makes me glad I don't date. It seems awfully complicated.

I agree. I don't date either (not because I wouldn't LIKE to, but... well, it's complicated), but I have gotten extremely frustrated with one or another of my female friends for taking about a million years to get herself fit to go out in public, and waiting until the last minute to start doing so. End result? We're late for the movie. And I HATE being late for movies.
