I suspect she just looks good in Spectacular because they don't want to do all the work of drawing old people, so they just draw people in their twenties and give them white hair. Same thing with Capt. Stacy, who is probably due to get a leg injury and retire if there's a third season.

What's ironic is how many fans made older Justice League fans made similar complaints about how "THE JUSTICE LEAGUE IS NOT A SITCOM" during JLI's heyday.

They had a point, too, to their way of thinking. Still, the JLI was fine for what it was - I personally prefer the more iconic versions of the team, but the JLI was enjoyable enough, and more importantly for the purpose of this discussion, it was ORIGINAL, which you have to respect. It had a unique feel to it, and that's important in establishing the identity of any comic. The problem is that Giffen seems to have transported that feel almost unchanged to his treatment of the Metal Men, and that's not RIGHT, dammit. The JLI was pieced together out of various individuals that had rarely had any contact before, let alone served on a team - when the dynamic that he came up with was applied to them, it worked, because at that point it was unique. The Metal Men are an established team that have an established feel to them that has worked perfectly well ever since their creation. Plastering the old JLI dynamic over that is, to my mind, little short of an act of vandalism - it's like painting horns and a goatee on a beautiful woman in a poster and writing 'THIZ WUMAN IZ TH DEVVIL' next to her. Some people may find it amusing, but vandalism it is and remains. The Metal Men are not the JLI, dammit, and no amount of ignoring their previous characterizations will make them so.
