I'm starting to get worried that by the end of this Zod isn't going to look like a vilain.

I think Zod will be shown as just as much a villain as Lane and that Krypton and Earth suffer because of them.

We've already seen some signs of Zod's humanity in WONK (also by Robinson and Rucka) and that he believes (like Lane) he is a patriot. Lane by contrast has become more of a 2-D unlikable villain than the guy who just a year or so back almost took over the Earth with super-powered convicts. Unless they do something to change his characterization soon, it's going to be hard to root for Earth to win in this "war" (and you can't "protect the planet," as Lane says, if almost all the population is killed to do it).

I don't think we'll be expected to root for Earth in this. And they'll probably be plenty of Kryptonians we're not supposed to root for.
