If I remember correctly, Nic Cage is playing a cop who is kicked out of his job by corruption on the force, and resorts to training his daughter to be a samurai sword wielding assassin to dispense vigilante justice.

Which... sounds like a backwards version of a comicbook character I'm a big fan of...
