Chocosis for Christmas; 3 of 3
Dec. 25th, 2009 01:38 am
For the third and final of my Chocosis Christmas posts, we jump back to the first chapter. Lookit the Chokotto Sister tag for the others. (They're good! Read them!)
Why did I do the last chapter first, and the first chapter last? ... I don't know. I had a good reason when I started, but I've forgotten it now. Oh, well.
This one was a pain to cut down to the rules...I think the result is coherent, anyway.
So, early one Christmas morning, Haruma Kawagoe hears knocking outside his window. Too tired to realize this is kind of weird, as he lives on the second floor, he opens up...

Not something you see every day, to be sure. So, Haruma is curious as to who his visitor is, as she hands him that large bundle:

... Whut?
Santa reminds Haruma that he asked for a little sister. YEARS ago, when he was a little kid himself. It's just little sisters take a long time to make. (One would think 9 months, but Santa clearly doesn't work that way.)
Santa heads off leaving Haruma with his new little sister. Also leaving him very confused.

Who could say no to that face? I ask you! Nobody, that's who!
So, they have breakfast, and discover the girl doesn't have a NAME. Which just cannot be allowed to stand! So, he names her Choco (or Choko as transliterated here), in honour of the 'anchoko' - that is, guide book - she keeps consulting to find out what to do in a given situation. (The thing disappears a few chapters later, but Choco remains Choco.)
Later on they go shopping, because Haruma, being a 20 year old male, has no clothes for young girls in his apartment.
The shopping montage is cute, but cut for space. While they're out shopping, Haruma thinks back to when he was a kid:

:( (I think I may be giving the impression that this series is much sadder than it really is... I've posted fully half of the sad bits in this series of posts...)
So, as inconvenient, and highly confusing as it all is, Haruma's happy to finally have the little sister he wanted so desperately wanted way back when, and certainly intends to take good care of her.
He's not, however, off to a good start...he realizes he left their purchases in the restaurant that they'd stopped to eat in, and hurries back, leaving Choco on her own.

Skeevy bastards at 12 o'clock! I don't know what their plans for Choco were, and I don't want to.
So, Haruma gets himself beaten senseless defending Choco (who then saves his ass by pretending the cops were coming - her book said it was OK to lie to save your brother from a massive asskicking).

'Thank you, Brother.'
And thus ends Christmas with Choco. Hope you enjoyed.
