For those that do not know DC put out several Hardcover collections in the early 80's (?) of comics from the 30's to the 70's. This is from the Batman one , there was also a Superman and Wonder Woman one

I love the sequence where they're all consoling Bruce Jr. and Bruce Senior is just like "That's right, Dick, you did suck."

Dick: I made mistakes too!

Kathy: Yeah, none of us were perfect!

Bruce: Yes, uh, I... once locked myself in the Batcave for a month and ate only rats. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but that never came in handy.

Also, Bruce Jr. looks a lot like a miniature Rorschach. I'd like to believe that's a coincidence, and not a part of Alan Moore's sinister plan...

"I made plenty of boners when I was Robin".

I'm sure you did, Dick. I'm sure you did.

God bless the Silver Age!

Morrison's "International Club of Heroes" used them again, with an appearance from "Man-of-Bats" and Raven Red ("Chief Man of the Bats" and "Little Raven's" new hero names)

I have this book! It's fantastic. My favorites as a kid were 'Secret of the Waiting Graves!' and 'Demon of Gothos Mansion!'.

Wouldn't it be cool if everything that is happening in the current DC Universe was a story Alfred was writing?

Or maybe even that machine Superman and Batman used to create the imaginary world of the Super-Sons. Oh wait, Batman has one of those in his cave as seen in Superman/Batman 63. :)

Showing my age, I can attest that DC first published Batman from the ’30s to the ’70s in the early 1970s. There were similar volumes about Superman and Captain Marvel.

There was a Wonder Woman volume of the same period, but I don't think it used the same subtitle. It featured a Gloria Steinem introduction, and some readers say the stories appear to have been selected to downplay Dr. Marston's bondage scenes.

Grant Morrison has credited the Batman volume with shaping his childhood vision of the Caped Crusader, which is why we're seeing so many of the motifs in that book coming back.

Silver Age Comics reports that Alfred eventually wrote six of these "Batman II" stories in the early 1960s, and at least half end with Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to save Dick and Bruce, Jr., again. So much for passing the torch to a new generation.
