For those that do not know DC put out several Hardcover collections in the early 80's (?) of comics from the 30's to the 70's. This is from the Batman one , there was also a Superman and Wonder Woman one

Bruce: Yes, uh, I... once locked myself in the Batcave for a month and ate only rats. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but that never came in handy.
Also, Bruce Jr. looks a lot like a miniature Rorschach. I'd like to believe that's a coincidence, and not a part of Alan Moore's sinister plan...

Date: 2010-01-05 03:14 am (UTC)There was a Wonder Woman volume of the same period, but I don't think it used the same subtitle. It featured a Gloria Steinem introduction, and some readers say the stories appear to have been selected to downplay Dr. Marston's bondage scenes.
Grant Morrison has credited the Batman volume with shaping his childhood vision of the Caped Crusader, which is why we're seeing so many of the motifs in that book coming back.
