Date: 2010-01-15 03:06 am (UTC)If you sign on to this site using Yahoo's OpenID, for example, and Yahoo decides to stop providing OpenID to customers, all your data stored here is lost, you have to start over with a new account.
There's no way to merge two OpenID accounts (like you can with Passport/LiveID), and there's no way to get a list of which data is associated with your login (like you can with Google ID and Passport/LiveID.)
Anyway, use it if you like it. Just make sure you're aware of the limitations first.
