I'm amazed they didn't immediately start trying to kill each other as with every other super hero team up.

The book has a nice play on that.The Terminator gets hired by Darksied as well. He kind of takes care of the Hero's mistaken for villains fisticuffs obligatory...

Slade is really a lot of fun in this story, too. The fact he can hold his own as a villain alongside Darkseid is in itself impressive.

And then he broods, drinking Dom Perignon.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHH, that makes sense. I had a god-awful visage of Arnold Schwarzenegger chasing the Teen Titans and the X-Men.

That wouldn't be much of a contest, though, as just about any one of either team could take out the Terminator without a hell of a lot of effort. Against normal humans, he's terrifying; against superheroes? Not so much. Those guys eat robots for breakfast.

Lovely, lovely art throughout this, and a lot of cute moments. A shame you had to cut the scene where the "true" ghost of Jean possesses Scott for a moment and he fires the Phoenix as an optic blast.

I also have this lovely little imaginary image in my head of a story set post this story where Titans Tower has a visitor

Just like when she kissed Robin, that's the look she gets when the ovipositor in her throat is engaged, getting ready to lay her eggs within stomach of the fittest male present. She wants her swarm of alien babies to survive long enough to hatch and eat their way out of the shattered remains of their fathers'.

Robin and Cyclops are my favorite heroes from each universe. You can imagine how much I freaked out the first time I saw them standing side by side on that cover.

The only other time I freaked out that much was when Capcom and Marvel crossed over to make X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

Odd, every crossover I've seen here has DC and Marvel heros inhabiting seperate universes, but the two I've read (The first Spider-Man/Superman and a Spider-Man/Batman that I think took place after this did) has them existing in the same universe. Peter and Lois even knew of each other's reputations when they met.

Even the Hulk/Superman crossover had Superman groaning over the fact that he wasn't in the Avengers. :)

In the unofficial guide to the CoIE that fantagraphics put out gave a numbered earth where Marvel and DC co-existed (it was destroyed by antimatter.)

Batman/Punisher also had them in the same universe.

Byrne's Batman/Captain America had Bats and Cap coexisting in a version of his Generations universe and had them fighting alongside each other in WW II.

I think in the first two or three teamups, they were all "same universe". It was the whole DC vs Marvel thing where it became "seperate universes".

Personally, I loved the amalgams.

Oh, but in this issue, Gar/Kitty is way too cute :D

Robin's so understanding here when she wants to make out with Colossus but when she reluctantly has to marry Karras he's all dicky.
And Starfire has even more Ho-ish tendencies sitting inbetween Wolverine and Colossus. Robin, what are you not doing??

I have this issue and it is truly amazing. I got it signed by Stan the Man himself and he started reading it at the table but had to give it back when the promoters told me to keep it moving.
