I didn't even read the text underneath the second picture. All that matters to me is ZOMG DINOSAUR LANTERN. AWESOMEST GREEN LANTERN EVER.

That's Isamot Kol. He's been a Lantern since issue 1 of GLCorps, and yes he is awesome.
leikomgwtfbbq: (Yay!)

Everything's cooler with dinosaurs. XD

[personal profile] darkknightjrk 2010-01-20 03:01 (UTC)(link)
I must agree--dinosaur Lantern is way awesome.

Lol yeah, that was my reaction too: *scrolling* *halt* It's... it's a dinosaur!! :D *squee*

I was gonna post a comment asking if he's appeared in comics before, but apparently demonprawn already answered :) And now, I'm off to google, to find out more about this GL -->

I'm guessing the 7 leaders of each Corps become the "New Guardians"? That might be interesting.
jlroberson: (Default)

[personal profile] jlroberson 2010-01-20 07:23 (UTC)(link)
It would make more sense than those other "New Guardians," a group that could have had any name really, as there was little sign they had anything to do with the others. I think DC found the green rings embarrassing around then.
lamashtar: The Great Hal Jordan (awesome)

[personal profile] lamashtar 2010-01-21 07:35 (UTC)(link)
Eh, I'm betting it doesn't last long. Hal has zero authority over the Corps. The Alpha Lanterns, Honor Guard, Salaak and Mogo all have more official status than him. Also, I seem to recall the Oans will call Alan Scott before them according to prophecy, and that hasn't happened yet, so they have to come back.

MANAPUL ART I WANT TO MAKE LOVE WITH IT

Needs more Wally, though.

I miss Wally. What's he up to?

Getting some extra necking time with Linda, I suppose. The Flash Family is all supposed to be showing up in that book now, as opposed to the originally planned Wally West back-ups and Kid Flash on-going...but really, they're going to appear like in the previous Flash on-going, only in moderate appearances and just long enough to help the series headliner (Barry, in this case) recover and save the day.

Interesting.

I don't see Atrocitus and Larfleeze sticking around for very long, though. Neither one plays very well with others.

Also, is Sinestro getting a free pass for all the people he's killed?
punishermax: (Default)

[personal profile] punishermax 2010-01-20 03:22 (UTC)(link)
I think it's more of a "We need you, so we won't take you in now". thing. It's like a gang banger getting a deal, because he can help take down a massively influential gang leader.

[personal profile] theanswer 2010-01-20 05:15 (UTC)(link)
Atrocitus actually gets along well with Saint Walker, they bonded upon learning that they were both fathers who lost their families.

Well, rage is attracted to hope, though it would never admit so. The nature of rage is partly disappointment that hope was not enough.

So what colour is "Disappointment" in the spectrum?
jlroberson: (Default)

[personal profile] jlroberson 2010-01-20 09:53 (UTC)(link)
Well, now we're getting into the ridiculous and juvenile oversimplification the whole concept of the "emotional spectrum" thing represents, and that's a whole 'nother thing!

It won't be the Rogue mainstays. It'll probably be somebody forgettable like Tar Pit or Razer, as Johns is wont to kill.

I'm not really feeling the GL cover. Mahnke's Larfleeze and Atrocitus look fierce, but his art seems a bit rough for the "smoother" characters (the women and Saint Walker). Not that it will stop me from picking up any of these comics.

This post is full of pretty!

[personal profile] zordboy 2010-01-20 08:15 (UTC)(link)
I'm not quite sure what the deal is with this "Brightest Day" thing (surely they can't be hitting us with another giant mega crossover so soon, so I'm guessing that "Brightest Day" is just a story arc which will function as an epilogue to "Blackest Night"), but if Dinosaur-Lantern is involved, I will certainly be onboard.

And I don't know. I think I'd totally read an ongoing about Larfleeze hanging out with the rest of the them. He might be a monster, but he's a ridiculously entertaining one.

I'm not quite sure what the deal is with this "Brightest Day" thing

Brightest Day will be a biweekly book for the next year, starting in April. http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/01/11/dcu-in-2010-kick-off-your-monday-with-some-major-news/

Are my eyes going bad, or is Star Sapphire actually some kind of purple?

[personal profile] zordboy 2010-01-20 11:23 (UTC)(link)
Well, violet is her light, and isn't violet a shade of purple?
01d55: Jigglypuff (Default)

[personal profile] 01d55 2010-01-21 06:37 (UTC)(link)
Violet is a shade of purple, but the Star Sapphires are and always have been pink.

Coloring them "correctly" is basically telling us that they are using the SS corp to represent Love seriously and not as a flimsy excuse to have a bunch of hot womb-crazy chicks in pink space swimsuits, and that is a goddamn lie.

"green lantern Guy and Kyle"

Guess that Red Lantern thing currently won't stick, and neither is going to the Blue corps, despite the common opinion they were. So...status quo?

[personal profile] zordboy 2010-01-20 23:50 (UTC)(link)
Probably. But there's a dinosaur-lantern!
