PowerGirl #8 - Even PowerGirl has her limits

Peej and Vartox defeat the aliens from the last issue and Vartox asks her to dinner. Guess even Peej has her limits on exposed skin.

He changes and has a clothing dispenser for Peej that has some 1200 outfits -- including the gown that Adam Hughes designed for that "Women of DC" poster.
After pizza and lots of wine Vartox explains to Peej why he needs help populating his planet.

Good to know. Super boobs do not equal a super uterus.

And it's off to the fertility room.

Is Equinox in or out of continuity? Fun issue. I am going to miss Vartox.

This arc is basically what one one of Patrick Farley's comics would be like if his IQ were halved and he had a raging boner for the 60's. I'm so glad I dropped this book so I could spend the money on sexy commissions of Power Girl instead. All the T&A, none of the mind numbing BM.

I don't know. For formal evening gowns for beautiful women, isn't cleavage an acceptable fashion choice? She looks gorgeous in the thing, no two ways around it. Plus, as evening-wear (as opposed to punching-supervillains-wear), it works.

Ahahaha, Vartox is still around? I didn't know that! :D I remember seeing him on s_d 1.0 in some old silly comic. I assumed that a Zardoz/Connery parody character wouldn't have a very long lifespan... but I'm surprised and happy to see the guy again! Even though his dressing habits make me want to scream "NOOOOO" and gouge my eyes out. Oh, and I love PG's reaction to his clothes :P

Why do I think this set-up is vaguely mocking of the whole PowerGirl's baby storyline in Zero Hour (you know the one with the big send-up only to be forgotten in a minute).

Also? Vartox vs. Doc Mid-nite? Really? I know he helped you out and all, Peege but I'm sure Pieter would appreciate a dress like that more (and you wouldn't have to get drunk just to stand in his attentions). Vartox is a funny one-off character as a call-back to some 70s story and Sean Connery in a diaper but I really hope we see this is the last of him.
