scans_dailyOne of my favorite DC couples is Guy and Tora. I don't know why, but there's just something so frickin' adorable about the couple. And this story, from Justice League Quarterly, is one of my favorite stories concerning them.
The original story is twenty-four pages long. I have eight here.
The gang decides to go to a restaurant. While there, Guy and Oberon get in a fight. Bea and Tora leave the table to avoid the fight and hang out in the restroom. While they're talking, something weird happens with the amulet, and Ice transforms into the monster seen on the cover. She attacks Fire and then starts to destroy the nearby buildings.
The General manages to free Oberon, but is stopped by Guy when he attempts to knock out the Ice!Monster.
Petey, who is a recently hired consultant of the JL_, is attempting to calm the monster down by speaking to it in its own language. He succeeds, explaining that Ice was possessed by a demon that had been trapped in the amulet for a thousand years. Once he explained the situation, the demon agreed to evacuate Tora's body. Max agrees to hire Petey on a more permanent basis, since he did such a good job.
And that is why Ice/Guy is such an amazing couple.
