I'm talking about the black belt, university graduate, former librarian and no-shit taking Congresswoman and Crime Fighter who was a respected equal of both Batman & Robin and figured out their identities on her own, version of Barbara Gordon we had before her crippling. Some people, including writers seem to forget about that somewhat more interesting character and instead focus on her being something of a Cute Bruiser in her Bat-girl days.

I'm fine with Oracle. It's just I grew UP with Babs. Look, winning a boy who's less than ten over to reading a girl character and really liking her is not an easy feat. DC in the 70s made me love Batgirl. That isn't easily dissolved. She's one of those lodged in my childhood self like Captain Marvel is, and it won't budge. So while I have no problem with Oracle, it's not like I get enthused about her.

Yeah, I don't really give much of a shit about Oracle these days. However, I would read the heck out of Congresswoman Babs any given day. I wouldn't have minded her legs back if it meant she could be a no-shit taking Congresswoman again (and the Batwoman identity wasn't already taken), she could run for it again, though it's unlikely with Gail Simone at the helm.
