Alfred remains the epitome of awesome.

I love Dick woobie. I really, really do. It's my guiltiest comic book pleasure. And though Devin Grayson fucked up majorly with that Tarantula business, I feel she also wrote and inspired a few touching and well done follow up stories that highlighted the connections in the Batfamily beautifully. Case in point, Nightwing #99...
Alfred is tending to a wounded Dick who's still messed up about watching Blockbuster get shot.

Later, Dick asks about Tim, Cassandra, and Barbara who've all scattered in the mess of War Games for various reasons.

Rawr!

:(

You tell him, Alfie!

What I like most about that scene (besides Alfred communicating with a single line ("Richard John Grayson!") his position as father figure to Dick) is that Alfred sort of articulates what many of us, as readers, are thinking. We want Dick to be bright again too. And the sadness, the poignancy of a happy child growing and becoming jaded, the regret felt when you think you've failed that child in some way, the fear for his safety... it all comes through here for me.
Here's one of my favorite scenes (despite the weird, melted pepperoni burns) from Nightwing #117. Dick's been on an extremely bizarre, self-destructive mafia bent. Once again Alfred is nursing him back to increasingly temporary good health. Bruce comes home to curb Dick's insane attempts to leave. Rather ironic when you think about it.

Finally, Dick lets go of the secret. The expression on his face is the epitome of exhuastion and surrender.

Bruce berating Dick for being uncommunicative... hilarious!

Eeek! Scary bat pep talk!

You're a tad on the late side, Bats, but well said nonetheless.
To top off the post, I figured I'd continue the theme of Alfred doctoring his boys with a bit of random Robin #7.

I've always liked the way this artist draws Tim and his adorable baby fat.
I apologize if there are repeats here. The tags for Dick are slightly confusing and there are rather a lot of posts for him.
