They still haven't changed the Star Sapphire costumes? Johns normally caves to fan pressure (changing the JSA HQ back to a brownstone, changing Stargirl's star rod back to its old form, etc.), so that surprises me.

A different Star Sapphire appearing in Green Lantern Corps recently wore a variant of the Silver Age costume, so presumably, like with GLs, some variation in the costumes is poossible.
The flimsy atrocity depicted above however has, to my knowledge only ever appeared in the Johns penned Green Lantern books, so it kind of seems as though he is insisting on it.

Just from an artistic standpoint, it strikes me that if you're doing this "warm colors vs cool colors" thing, it behooves you to make the Star Sapphires an actual cool color, like the violet they supposedly represent, rather than Despero-skin pink.

First post, hi everyone!
I don't want to offend anyone, but does anyone else think that there are two many Lantern colours now? I don't know, but to me it just seems to be really unoriginal and overdone at this point, I mean, orange lanterns?
Of course, I can't judge, as I'm still trying to get into the Lantern books, but I can't for the life of me work out why there's a need for so many colours. Can anyone fill me in or give some thoughts?

Yeah, the Star Sapphires' costumes are still really dumb.

In defence of the Indigo Lantern chick, the drawings of the male Indigos that I've seen are just wearing loincloths, so her costume is consistent with the others.

On a purely art level, if that's supposed to split in three, I don't see how that's going to work; the middle cover is just going to be Hal and a couple of other characters' hands/asses.

I mean, I can believe in a lot of outrageous things. I can believe in super-powered rings that can do almost anything, I can believe in a cross-galaxy corps of aliens run by blue midgets... but somehow I can't bring myself to believe a tough-nosed businesswoman would fly around in that outfit.

I want to know this: how in hell do they expect anyone to cosplay it? People, the idea is to maximize the number of good-looking women dressing up as your characters. This requires that you make their costumes vaguely kinda semi-possible in Earthland. As in "does not consist entirely of pink paint", and "does not require you to scoop out the contents of your breasts and fill the space with helium."

I've cosplayed as Black Canary. I would be willing to cosplay as Star Sapphire, but I can't, because her costume fails at clothes.
