American Son miniseries promises the return of a favorite character

 So Brian Reeds is writing an American Son miniseries which deals with the fallout of Harry Osborn in Dark Reign. He's promising the return of a favorite character and the resolution to a classic storyline that fans have been clamoring to see brought up again.

Gabriel Stacy. The son of Norman Osborn and Gwen Stacy. The storyline that you thought would Marvel would never mention again.





I knew all of you (especially K-Box) would be excited to hear this.

There are not words enough to describe, nor numbers enough to qualify, how much I fucking hate this story.

The only silver lining in this cloud for me is that the remaining readers of the current Spider-Man status quo tend to hate the Gwen-and-Norman retcon almost as much as they hated Peter being married to Mary Jane.

There really isn't anyone outside of Marvel editorial who likes this story. It's simply shit. And thus, I approve of Marvel dredging it back up, for the same reason that I approve of Obama's opponents demanding to see his birth certificate, because in both cases, they alienate moderates and make themselves look like assholes.

I was really, really hoping that this would be sweept under the carpet, and never, ever mentioned again..

I rarely get worked about changes, but Spider-man making deals with devils and this piece of work just leave me with a bizarre sense of "WTF? who thought that was a good idea?" Mind you I know little of Gwen Stacy but this still seemed bizarre to me. plus Osborn's face doesn't help it at all. lol

I really wish I could get this image out of my head. Please god. And the fact that we have Peter asking if Gwen was a virgin when it happened (and he poor love of her life didn't get past second base with her) juxtaposed with Gwen with her mouth open in pleasure and the Norgasm makes it all the more icky. I wonder if Gwen felt the need to take a long shower to get rid of the feeling the next morning, I know the reader of Sins Past does.
