Nice scene perhaps, but amazingly bad legalize. Victim impact statements don't come into play until after the accused is convicted.

I liked Manhunter concept wise, but execution always seemed to come up short.

I have to agree. Although I think it wasn't until after the timeskip that the writer dropped the ball. Once it went from Kate killing super villians and living on the edge of hero/villian in the eyes of the superhero community to Kate being all buddy buddy with everybody and not killing people it lost a lot of its charm.
