So, I started a Twitter recently to hash out my feelings on my comics each week, and one of the creators I ended up following is Kieron Gillen, who you may know for taking over the reigns from JMS on Thor, or writing the absolutely delightful and unfortunately to-be-cancelled S.W.O.R.D. Anyway, he'd been talking about his Image mini-series Phonogram: The Singles Club, which ended this week, so I decided to give issue 7 a shot.

I'm sharing with you today the last story, because they warmed my Talking Heads-loving heart.

I've since gone back to the shop to get the rest of the mini. Didn't hurt they had Image back-issues half-off, but they were missing #6, too. I may deem it necessary to share more, but I'll have to read them first!

Also, while we're talking about music, I just wanted to share a final reminder to anyone hoping to participate in the Scans_Daily Boom De Yada Project, you have until midnight EST on Sunday to record your submissions! I actually have almost all the verse-lines I need, but there were still a few people who wanted to contribute that I haven't heard back from yet!
I do have a dire shortage of laaaand-liiiieefeelds recorded though, so if anyone can spare a few minutes and help me with those, I'd really appreciate it.

Part of the reason I don't want to read Phonogram is the fact that I knew someone called Jamie McKelvie in school, and I don't want to think "that guy is making comics for money and I'm not", even though it isn't the same Jamie McKelvie.

That's not a very good reason, is it?

I got the first trade a couple of weeks back and I've been tracking down the latest series. The news that there will likely not be a Phonogram 3 makes me so very sad. :(

I'm in the same boat. Waiting for my first trade to come in, and if I can't find the single issues of Single's Club I'll just wait for the trade. But the fact that I may not be able to get any more than that makes my heart hurt.

If you only get the trade, you miss out on the b-sides, which are very good

That's a pretty awesome back cover, I'll give you that. The only thing thing that tarnishes it somewhat for me is the thought of how I would react if he actually WERE talking to me:

I know! But I can't find the issues. So I'm hoping the B-sides are all eventually collected (because I'm thinking positively. There will be more volumes and therefore enough B-sides for its own trade).

What's even better is I saw this when it was first broadcast in Britain. Hence, I get a lovely warm feeling of being a kid again whenever I watch it.

I've recently been complaining in the comments on Major Spoilers.com about how inane the two most recent Muppet movies have been compared to absolute gems like Muppets Tonite. A measure of hope has been reclaimed in that YouTube account of theirs, but I seriously don't want to see another twisted Kirk Thatcher creation ever again.

Upon further study (by which i mean reading the rest of the series), I feel it's safe to assume that the b-sides don't typically take place at Never On A Sunday.
