Here's the thing, though. Isn't the pit supposed to cure your injuries? Why does she have to die?

Well... I know it resurrects the dead.... maybe they don't want to know what happens if you resurrect the dead while they're still alive? Yeah, I got nuffin.

Wonder Woman has taken a dip in the Pit as a last-ditch cure for a fatal wound, and after a brief period of 'AAAH DON'T COME NEAR ME, I'M CRAZY AND HATE YOU ALL', she doesn't seem to have been harmed too much by it.

Possibly Wonder Woman is a special case, given she was made of clay and magicked into flesh by the gods. But then again, it's the DCU...

Possibly. I'm just saying that the Laz Pit is not ALWAYS a one-way trip to Bad Newsville - people have used it as a miracle cure more than once.

PS, I really like the mental image of Dick selling tickets to the Pit. He could have a sign next to it, "You must be this tall to enter the Lazarus Pit."

Good idea - I'd be an updated version of the movie 'Flatliners'!

I read "Laz Pit" as "Lazy Pit", and given how it's being used as a plot device, that's just about right.
