First look at Batman: Under the Red Hood

Here's the behind-the-scenes look at the Batman: Under the Red Hood movie. I look forward to your comments, S_D.




Bruce Greenwood = OK. The voice seems too gruff, but not at the Christian Bale level so that's OK.
Jensen Ackles = Hmmm. The jury's still out on that one. The line in the preview is kinda bland; I guess he'll really shine at the emotional parts.
NPH = I'll have to admit, he sounds like a total lady killer with that I'm chatty; it's part of my charm line. But in the other line he sounds a bit too young, younger than Jason. Is Dick supposed to be older than Jason?

That's just me. I wanna know S_D's reaction. :)

And for legality: a page that could've invalidated the whole Red Robin thing, from Robin 156.

I can't help but laugh at how they go on about how important A Death In The Family is to Under the Hood and then still try playing up the mystery of who Red Hood is.

Though since I really doubt they will bring in the Time Punch that brought him back to life in the comic I am curious as to what they will do to ressurect Jason here.

From what I've heard, Winick had an in-Bat-verse idea for bringing back Jason Todd, apparently Didio scrapped it for the time-punch idea.

Take this with a grain of salt, they are just internet rumors but if they are indeed true, it's likely we will see it in the movie.

Couldn't they go with the whole Talia and Ra's put him in a Lazarus Pit thing that they used in the Batman Annual story? It made as much sense as Superboy punching time.

Also it IS kinda ridiculous how everyone in the videos is going "who is the Red Hood", "it's a mystery", blah, blah and then do nothing but talk about Jason Todd. I think by that point even if you hadn't read the comics you would have figured it out.

It's possible that that's route they are going to take. However we haven't heard squat about Ra's or Talia.

Well, we do know Ra's will be in there- I forget who his voice actor is- I'm pretty sure it's the guy who played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies?- but he will at least make an appearance, it would seem, being that he's been cast.

I loved the time punch. After all the overkill of cloning stories and never-was-dead stories... it just seemed refreshingly honest to me. A super-dude punched reality and some dead people weren't dead anymore. Sweet.

My guess is they will have Ras have a hand in that he's showing up with Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy and Zhao's voice actor) doing his voice.

According to this recent interview, the whole team first had the idea of Superboy punching the wall of reality, months later Winick came up with what he called a more "terra firma" idea instead, and finally DiDio decided based on fan reaction that no such change was necessary and that the tie-in/promotion for Infinite Crisis would work fine.

They were playing up the it's a mystery bit when it's not a mystery, really. But maybe they'll make it work, somehow? *hoping*

As someone who first read UTH long after she knew who the Red Hood was, I don't really think it matters that much. I mean, yeah, I rolled my eyes at how they tried to play up the whole "mystery of the Red Hood" thing when it's really pretty obvious, but the story hardly hangs on the mystery of the Red Hood. As I understand it, people were pretty sure who it was the first time around. The identity of the Red Hood wasn't really the point; Batman's discovering it was, IMO.

Well, among other points, but you get what I mean.
