Here's the behind-the-scenes look at the Batman: Under the Red Hood movie. I look forward to your comments, S_D.

Bruce Greenwood = OK. The voice seems too gruff, but not at the Christian Bale level so that's OK.
Jensen Ackles = Hmmm. The jury's still out on that one. The line in the preview is kinda bland; I guess he'll really shine at the emotional parts.
NPH = I'll have to admit, he sounds like a total lady killer with that I'm chatty; it's part of my charm line. But in the other line he sounds a bit too young, younger than Jason. Is Dick supposed to be older than Jason?

That's just me. I wanna know S_D's reaction. :)

And for legality: a page that could've invalidated the whole Red Robin thing, from Robin 156.

"I never expected Jud Winick to look so.....thin or with that kind of voice." Heh, yeah, me neither. I totally did a double-take when I realized it was him.

Now I feel old. I first knew Judd Winick from The Real World: San Francisco. He looks the same, only with less hair.

... I'm not entirely sure I've even heard of that show, tbh.

It's still on--it's on MTV. 7 random strangers living in a house together and having their lives taped. Judd was in the third season when the people picked had personalities and careers of their own. I believe he's married to another cast member from the house there now. That's where he met Pedro, about whom he wrote a book. Pedro died from AIDS-related causes the day after the last ep aired iirc.

And I *think* (but am not entirely sure) that when Winick made Mia Dearden HIV-positive, it was a nod to Pedro. (Well, plus being a prostitute and having been raped, she was unfortunately subject to unhealthy situations, so acquiring HIV was likely)

I assumed it was. I think that's how he got that rep that he always does stuff like that. That he did a lot of work for AIDS awareness and then also extended that to Mia.

God, I'm just remembering Judd on the Real World reunion when Puck was mouthing off about something and Judd was furious that he'd made some comment about Pedro, that he was glad he was dead or something. WHAT DID YOU SAY? WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT HIM? YOU SAID YOU WERE GLAD HE WAS DEAD! Oh, angry Judd.

Yes, I think he won a GLAAD award for all his work, didn't he? And I know he was nominated for a Pulitzer; IIRC it was for his book on Pedro.

Oh Judd. You are so unfairly maligned, methinks.

Ha! You must be. My teen years were in the mid to late 90s, which is why I remember the Real World. ....That's probably around the time you were born, I'm guessing.

......You darn young whippersnappers!

Oooh! I'm good. Yeah Detective Skillz!

Apparently, when someone checked out the www.batmanredhood.com website, using text-only code, they were able to find out it comes out on July 27th.

Obviously that's not a set in stone date, but seems like it would be close to that time.

Same here. I actually tend to forget (like I had prior to watching that video) that Judd (Real World) = Judd Winick (comics). It's like The Real World (or at least the first few series) was this separate reality that only existed in my teen years and isn't connected to anything else.

Those comments made me feel even older, since I was too busy working to watch The Real World when it was on. It feels ironic to realize people can be surprised at how Judd Winick looks and sounds since he's the one mainstream comic-book writer to be well known on TV before breaking in with the big publishers.

Incidentally, I just bought the new collection of Winick's Barry Ween comics because I liked the first volume so much. Excellent comedic timing, which also comes out in his Under the Hood issues.
