It's from a special What If that showed various versions of what would happen if Reed and Sue's second child had lived without the aid of cosmic retcons. This particular one became some sort of life-sucking eldritch horror.

There were two What Ifs about her, weren't there? One about the monster variety and one where she was pretty much the Second Coming. They had USAgent dressed as Cap try to assassinate her and such.

It was Henry Peter Gyrich who tried to kill her dressed as Cap. Cap was NOT amused.

Hm. Yeah, you're right. My mistake, must've mixed it up with of some other time USAgent cosplayed as Cap.

Has that What If been reposted in the new Scans Daily? I don't have the scans myself, sadly. I love the last scene where Cap comes to Gyrich to explain *just* how unhappy he is.

I don't think it's exactly fair to lay all the blame at Sue's door like that, after all the kid WAS 50% Reed too, or 50% Namor depending on how you view her likely relationships.

He also built Computo which killed 33.33% of another member, and drove Matter Eater Lad mad by having him devour the Miracle Machine.

Computo killed one of Triplicate Girls bodies... her reaction to which was NOT "Oh god, oh god it killed me", but "Oh well, I'll now change my name to Duo Damsel instead". The SilverAge wasn't much on traumatic shock.

Well, for values of "defenseless" that include being able to wish you into the cornfield if he objects too strongly to any corporal punishment doled out...

I believe using time-outs as punishment is probably the wisest way to proceed in Franklin's case.

Reminds me of that issue of The Authority when baby Jenny Q takes out a giant cosmic bug with her mindray and Midnighter (or Apollo) says that this was why they'd decided at no spanking policy for her.

Rule of Thumb: A man can hit his wife or child so long as the implement is no wider than his thumb. And with Reed, that thumb is as big as he wants it to be.

I don't remember the exact issue but it was one of those short stories they used to print in Marvel Adventures, after they stopped printing Mini Marvels. It's basically 3 or 4 panels and the art is really bad. Oh and it's neither funny nor cute.

The way the last speech bubble is positioned, I almost thought Franklin had the last word and was about to get all omnipotent on Reed. "No, YOU shut up! *bzzap*"
