Actually, I think the cringing may be becuase BL Ollie just hit her in the chest with a black energy arrow. I imagine that would hurt something fierce, and make people more powerful tha Dinah cringe from the pain.

Ever since they announced Green Arrow/Black Canary would go back to being just Green Arrow and the followed up by Dinah returning to the Birds of Prey as a lead (and Gail Simone I think has been on the record as not being for the marriage) I've thought that DC was separating them for the far forseeable future. Which I think is a mistake. As much as I like BC much more when she's not around Ollie, getting them hitched was something DC made a big deal of (with what TWO separate special wedding issues) and they might as well follow it through.

Though I can't see why at this rate anyone fighting the BLs believes a word coming out of their mouths.

I wasn't thrilled with how Dinah is portrayed when BL!Ollie starts in on the "truth" about him and Shado. It's frustrating that the former head of the JLA is shown cowering that much at the trash talk of a Black Lantern. Ugh.

But I did think Mia came off quite well.

Is it just me, or is BL Green Arrow the creepiest yet? Probably because the banter is a strong part of GA's normal modus operandi, and the BL version uses it quite well too...

Also: Since Blackest Night definitely happens after JUSTICE!, this means that Mia didn't get gobbled up by Prometheus' gizmo, so yay! Though how they'd explain that the babysitter got away, but the babysat Lian not, don't ask me :(

Read this last night and actually I rather liked it. The whole Blackest Night thing is really being done amazingly well, with very few duds. If you read the WW BN 3-parter, this is all three of those in one book, but done in old-school Ollie-bastard flavor with bits of the Justice 12-parter Ollie thrown in.

I thought the WW BN books plodded, but this one really moved. Diana gave into her ring, having to have someone else break her out of it. Ollie begins to throw his off (doesn't quite get all the way) out of sheer mental effort, which is described perfectly with a callback to the one time he used a ring.
