This is from Mister Miracle #2, by Jack Kirby.

We see Scott Free creating a "follower," an android duplicate that mimics his movements and tests stuff out for him. Suddenly the follower is destroyed by the Overlord, which has mistaken it for the real thing.

Granny Goodness's men see Oberon with the Mister Miracle follower and capture them both. The real Mister Miracle heads off to rescue his friend.

Goodness tells Overlord to open the X-Pit.

Miracle explains how he jammed his mother box into the Overlord's torment-circuits, destroying it.

It'd be interesting if they brought back the original Mister Miracle within the body of his follower, ala his escaping into a GL ring in "Jla: Another Nail'.

This also explains the numerous plastic duplicates of Baron Bedlam in Seven Soldiers: Mister Miracle.

Nah, those have been part of Bedlam's schtick since the beginning:

I can't look at Granny Goodness without hearing his voice.

Asner was good, but I usually imagine Granny sounding like "Mom" from Futurama.

Oh Granny Goodness. Honestly, I find her far more frightening than Darkseid. She's just so spiteful and cruel.

Also, thanks for the show and tell Scott!

I have to confess, when I saw you start a sentence with "Honestly, I find her..." I thought for *sure* you were gonna end it with "attractive".

This is ScansDaily, after all ^_^.

Hahaha! Oh so many disturbing scenarios are floating in my head now.

But Kirby's work does that to me even without scans_daily's sexual interpretation. The number of bdsm undertones is mind-boggling sometimes.

There one scene there where Granny reminds me of Hugo Weaving in his role in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Argh.

Never liked Granny... can't say that this changes anything in that regard.

Mister Miracle, on the other hand, I now feel a new-found appreciation for.

I'd never seen this story before. Now that I have, I have to say Granny Goodness is a freakin' pervert.

I love that first bit. It almost looks like she's playing the pipe organ for a church choir, then--wham! Battle armor!
