Superman Forever!
Apr. 6th, 2009 12:24 pmOh Clark/Lois fans, it's all your fault you got me posting even more scans. :p (This should be Clark/Lois week or something.)
I'll post more if that's okay with the mod (this book was at least 95 pages long...) and if I find anything else worthy for the Clark/Lois fans.

From Superman: Forever, a huuuge one-shot (about 100 pages?) written and drawn by too many to list, although most have already written and drawn for the Superbooks in the 90s anyway (Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern, etc), Clark regains his superpowers (he lost them during the Superman Red/Blue storyarc and before that when he became "Electric Superman" - read all about that here) and puts on his old Superman costume, exclaiming that "the one and only original Superman is back! Forever!" Later, with the help of Steel, Supergirl/Matrix, and Superboy/Kon (funny how the three of them aren't really around anymore...), he then saves a falling plane rescuing - who else? - Lois Lane.

Squee! <3
I couldn't resist to NOT post these next few scans because Jimmy is so adorable here. He left the Daily Planet some years ago (real-time wise, not DCU Time; I think right after Superman was killed and resurrected c. 1994-1995 and Superman Forever was published in 1998) to work at WGBS with Cat Grant and now wants to return and work at the Daily Planet again.

Look how happy Jimmy looks! When was the last time any of us saw a DC character this happy? :(

By the way, Lex Luthor had a relationship with someone named Contessa Erica Alexandra Del Portenza (aka the "Contessa") and then had a daughter, which again you can read about here.

Also there should be more with Lena Luthor. From what my good friend wiki tells me, she has an interesting history.

Date: 2009-04-06 03:26 pm (UTC)And Jimmy is hilarious, though I must say this is one of the only comics that made me feel sorry for Luthor. That's a feat.
Did anyone else read Perry's line as "People want to see what your HAIR looks like..."? Because I thought it said that and burst out laughing.

Date: 2009-04-06 05:29 pm (UTC)There should be more well-adjusted couples, relationships, families in heroing. TEH ANGST may drive stories, but after a while, fatigue sets in.

Date: 2009-04-06 05:38 pm (UTC)Anyway, it was many years until DC finally got them married in Superman: Wedding Album, which was published in 1997. The reason for the gap is that DC wanted the wedding from the Lois and Clark: New Adventures of Superman TV show to coincide with the comics version, mostly to boost sales and gain new readers.
