Robot/sword havers and polar bear killers: the bitter fruit of the Golden Tree
Mar. 3rd, 2010 06:11 amSo First Wave the first's out today.
And it introduces us to its version of several characters- the uber Clark Savage Jr. and friends, the dirt-napping Denny Colt, and even some Blackhawks.
With whom this sharp-dressed hirsute fellow is associated with in some capacity:

... he just took vodka straight.
well, I suppose he has the hair for it.
At any rate, this's apparently John Sunlight, a Savage foe of some note.
And he's in a good mood tonight, perhaps because of that article; bad news related to mysterious plans doesn't seem to faze him:

And so we cut away to Mister Colossi:

yes, that's a hulking robot Colossi has; it was first seen in the opening, putting out Littlejohn's left eye.
words clearly aren't helping him find Littlejohn, though, so another tack is taken:

" ... to spread MY legend. "
and, with that apparent hint regarding the Red Right Hand, we cut away to Rima the Jungle Girl escaping with Mister Littlejohn... and turning to see Colossi massacre her people in the distance...

I'm Polish though, so this may not count.

Date: 2010-03-04 03:28 am (UTC)Oh yes, he is of some note. Out of all of Doc's villains, he was the only one that Doc fought twice...and he was not captured either time, only defeated.
He is actually the Doc Doom to Doc Savage's Reed Richards. He has near super-human strength, intellect and knowledge. He growls as he thinks (similar to Doc's 'whistle'). He is an honest-to-badness evil Doc Savage for all intents and purposes.

Date: 2010-03-04 11:26 pm (UTC)And yes, I do tend to have this problem a lot, but I think it's more to do with my current computer and the fact that I'm on dial-up than the browser I use. I never had the stretchy-pictures problem before I got it, and it doesn't occur when I access the site from elsewhere. And it's not a regular thing - sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and it does tend to happen more often with certain posters than with others. (For instance, I haven't been able to read any of the 'Navis' scans at all.)
