The Mystic Hands of Doctor Strange #1
Mar. 13th, 2010 09:03 pm"The Mystic Hands of Doctor Strange" #1 also came out this last week. It's an 48-pager in black and white, featuring stories of the good doctor back before his recent demotion.
Just two pages from the lead story, "The Cure", by Kieron Gillen and Frazer Irving.
People have been behaving in odd ways, and Doctor Strange has traced the influence to an insane asylum. Naturally, to investigate more closely without tipping off the person or persons responsible, Stephen decides to have himself committed.

Those of you who are superior (to me) Doctor Strange fans will be able to pin down when this story is taking place from that information.
I'm not going to spoil the rest of the story this time, and there's three others. Check it out!

That said, I'm liking the looks of this. A lot more meaty occult and less flashy mucking about with superheroes.

Of course, one may choose to assume (as I do) that Stephens lousy poker skills are part of a massive, extended bluff on his part, and one of these days at the annual card game he's gonna take everyone to the cleaners.

So, yeah.

It's like DC publishing all these Bruce Wayne as Batman stories in the middle of trying to make us care that Bruce is dead/out of the picture forever and Dick has taken over.
It just dilutes the concept IMHO.

Quoted for truth. I am in total agreement with this comment - and I like Stephen Strange. It's like they're trying to have their cake and eat it too.

The events he's describing happened in Dr. Strange (first series) #13. Ironically, the storyline that immediately followed dealt with Strange losing his grip on reality as a result and getting dragged down to Hell (along with Clea and James Mandarin) by Satan.
The issues in question are:
The destruction and replication take place specifically in # 12 - 13.
