Green Arrow 31: The Fall of Green Arrow

When Mr. Queen falls, he falls hard.

Ollie's on the hunt for the Electrocutioner. Dinah, Hal and Barry try to stop him. Barry has some choice words for him basically "I don't like you and don't know why Hal was friends with you." Maybe Ollie's wife and partner can talk some sense into him.


Remember the marriage counseling they went to? Yeah, didn't work.

I think the divorce decree can be sent Fedex from Gotham, right?

Ollie also has a huge fight with Connor. But he still has one person he can count on. As Ollie traverse the world underneath his city, he comes on his only friend.


I didn't like the art in this issue, but thought that final page looked good. I'm very interested to find out what is going on with Mia.

J. T. Krull's shown some writing skills in the past, and one suspects he's doing his best with this story idea, but I'd suggest he stop doing the overdramatic final lines of each issue (with huge text). It doesn't really work.

If she's serious, I know what the arc is already and what part she'll play.

That part? Darker foil to him because she has a darker back story/more street origin. They'll run off and be a take off of Deathstroke and Ravager for a year or two before things build to a head in Ollie's mind. And when Olly is redeemed, she'll go nuts and run off because...abandonment issues. And she's a woman.

She'll then take residence in Cass' appartment and wait for a better writer.

Wouldn't it be fun if we found out, like in the crappy Nightwing Annual where Dick fakes being married because of a possibility that his bride to be is a "Black widow" murderess, that Babs had "accidentally" managed to delay the marriage licence in insurmountable reams of paperwork at the Recording Office, so that technically Ollie and Dinah have NEVER been legally married? :)

You know, the not knowing whether Mia is actually being serious or not, I liked this issue, a lot. It seemed like one of those that's only in between major events, but then it comes out that Ollie was just doing the old bait and switch routine. That's actually acknowledging he isn't a fucking tool all the time. I am impressed :o

Ok, the inker has WAY too much of an obsession with Canary's hair. Poor Ollie and his goatee in some shots are looking down right plastic compared to all the ink that has been used on Canary.


And what is up with Canary's leg/pose in that second panel? Something about that looks really off to me.

He can escape because, while not being able to keep up with Barry, he knows where he's going...I swear, Ollie's quiver is as much a deus ex machina as Batman's belt.

And yeah, the whole "I never liked you." irked me wrong.

And honestly, Dinah is supposed to be an attractive woman. If the artist couldn't even manage that... this whole storyline is atrocious and it's only just starting. Thanks DC.

you know what I think I'd like to see? Guy or John kill a supervillain and the heroes go apeshit and then the Guardians show up and remind them that GL's are police officers with the authority to kill.

Not on Earth they aren't, and AFAIK, the GLC is not a recognised legal body on Earth.

Policemen who are abroad don't get to break the laws of the land they are in just because those are the rules back home. The Guardians can dictate the rules in space or worlds who choose to go along with them all they want, but on Earth, they have no authority.

I intend to buy these issues at a later date, but I have to wonder if any theories as to Ollie killing Prometheus will be discussed. My theory was Ollie did it so Roy wouldn't have to. Any credence to that? At the very least, other characters might speculate that as Ollie's "real" reason.

I've spent a lot of my comics-reading life wanting Ollie and Dinah to get married. Now that they are, I want to sell the marriage to the devil so it never happened and we can just start the whole thing over.

You know what? Fuck selling it. I'll give him the damn thing. If he insists on payment... um... I could use a beer. That's it. I will sell Satan the Ollie/Dinah marriage for a beer.
