Some news about what the Young Avengers and New Secret Warriors will be doing during the events of Seige, courtesy marvel.com. Note: Spoilers for the ending of Seige #3 in the article.

In SIEGE: YOUNG AVENGERS #1, writer Sean McKeever and artist Mahmud Asrar stick the teenage heroes right in the thick of things, with a special story that focuses on team members Wiccan and Patriot.
...
McKeever reveals that his one-shot takes place "near the end of SIEGE #3," though he remained mum on the specifics.

Is this sort of random or have Kate and Eli been together (or hinted at it) at all before? I haven't read much Young Avengers so I'm genuinely curious.

Kate and Eli are dating.

I'd have been happier with that scene if it was Billy and Teddy kissing though. They're the YA's most long lasting and stable couple but they have yet to have a proper kiss on panel :(

A whole issue of Billy and Teddy snogging would go down well, I think.

Hey Marvel! Get on that, would you?

Are they dating? They flirt a lot, but I was never clear that they actually hooked up.

They refer to themselves and are referred to by others as boyfriends. It's past time they got a kiss. Maybe not in public, they may not be that comfortable. But somewhere.

They went on a carriage ride in central park once. Clint interrupted to check to see if Kate was proper Hawkeye material.

So yea, they date.

Yeah, but she was macking on Speed in the same issue. To my knowledge, she's yet to actually decide between them (not that there's really any doubt that Eli will win this particular contest).

Didn't the Dark Reign mini imply that they had hooked up? The recap pages listed them as a couple. And when Eli broke his hand punching Osborn in the last issue, she said she loved him.

The Wrecking crew, a bunch of construction workers who were accidentally given the power of Asgaurdian Gods and became criminals. They're the go to heavy hitter henchmen of the Marvel Universe, whenever a big bad needs serious muscle they tend to show up. Though yeah I can't remember the last time they ever won a fight. For a crew that used to fight Thor to a standstill Deadpool, Spider-man and Punisher were able to beat them last year.

I enjoy what I've read of Secret Warriors.

It's not re-inventing the spy-genre wheel (is that even possible anymore?) but it's smart and intriguing.

To each their own. I have a hard time getting past the premise (Fury: I need six teenagers with attitude! Go go Power Rangers! I mean, caterpillars! I mean, Secret Warriors) and the real lack of emphasize on the spy stuff is a no go for me.

It's been heavily emphasizing the spy stuff for the last six issues or so, complete with Nick having Not SHIELD Really investigating HYDRA.

Well, by emphasized I mean actually seeing stuff. 90% of the spy stuff we get in Secret Warrtiors is stuff we're *told*, not shown.

I like it. Wasn't Fury's justification for the kids the fact he needed unknowns and new powers, so he could be virtually certain they weren't Skrulls or agents of someone else?

Also, Phobos. <3

That was his justification, but it fails with just some critical thought is applied (and critical thought is a requirement of the spy genre).

None of his Secret Warriors were really 'off the grid'. Hell, as children of supervillains, they'd be in the system as relatives of said villains and really, I can't imagine a group that would be more closely watched than children coming from a broken home and having the DNA of a superhuman criminal!

In addition to that, as Daisy was his last contact, the skrulls should have clued into Fury's MO as soon as he recruited Phobos (who they should have been watching since his father is a powerful Avenger and he'd be easy leverage).

"Daisy just recruited Ares' son! Isn't she Mr. Hyde's daughter? Maybe there's a pattern there!"

Fury's only saving grace is that the skrulls were the worse spies ever. And don't get me started on how much time would be wasted on basic training as opposed to counter intelligence.

Agreed, though it's one of those books I keep reading out of spite just so I can rant about how awful it is. I'm thinking of dropping it with the next issue, though, after Hickman explains what exactly he did to my beloved Contessa >:(

I'm of two minds on it because, man, the wait on Heinberg is getting pretty silly.

On the other hand, Runaways went quickly went from 'okay' to 'meh' to worse once the original creative team left.

My that's pretty. I'd have preferred some focus on Speed, though, since we still know so little about him.

As for Kate and Eli - in Kate's special, they're on a date, sort of, but Kate is reluctant and asks if they can just be friends, right before Clint interrupts.

There's some conflict and arguing and macking on Speed (...by Kate, not Eli), but by the end, they kiss and make up and Kate asks him to give her time.

By Dark Reign - idk what's really going on in Reign, really.

It's great to see Mahmud Asrar getting more work, what with sadly nobody reading Dynamo 5 and all. (Boo i say! Boo! to no one in particular.)

Also, how Stature can catch a spot on an Avengers book while Kate and Eli swirl through Limbo only to be dragged out for the occasional group shot continues to mistify me. You'd think that they'd be the perfect addition for the Captain America ensemble. Or any of the street level team books, really.
