Ok so thanks to the major retcon of all things Original Titans in the recent Titans 23, I wanted to actually post some Original Fab Five stuff. So I went searching and I found these.




So this was what real Roy and Donna moments where, And what was really Roy and Dick fighting (and flirting). So blah...



So the Titans split up into their groups to cover both letters, and omg both groups manage to get themselves into a trap! Who would have seen that coming? Not me!

Gosh, this is so cute. Does this mean we can commence posting adorable Titans moments daily, from the first two classic runs? Because I will be all over that. To remind people that, aside from occasional hilarious melodrama, they were so dorky and cheesy and adorable and just -- what.

I like Roy and Donna more like this. A flirty, light-hearted, cute teenage sweetheart type of thing, that once in a while had Roy feeling down or Donna feeling frustrated or confused but it was the first real relationship either had. I don't see him as her first love, though, since I see Terry as that more.

Also Dick's and Roy's banter here? Was so adorable. Roy's snide but joking "rubbing it in" about how he's got the girl everyone's crushing on just being met by another joking remark back at him? That's the playful Dick and Roy I know and love. They've always had that tension and had the whole "We fight a lot but have to work together", but it was never Dick patronizing or being condescending to him.

Yes, and yes to everything you just said. I don't know why they have to start changing things. Because this worked great, and ever since their whole family relationship vibe, why would they have that if they were all -so- mean to each other? Stupid...

I'll definitely post some, myself! I have a pretty cute scene of Donna and Roy reuniting after he gets clean again that I've been meaning to post, and some interesting Wally-->Donna stuff, such as her turning him down in a pretty harsh and hilarious way (Donna Dickery!).

This is the Titans to me. Disregard all else!!

I feel like I should point out that this is original Teen Titans where Roy says things like "Bat Cat" and "Robin Bird" and people make really silly jokes and yet the relationships are far more sophisticated and realistic than they are in Titans 23.

Oh seriously! What happened? Comics generally tend to get a little better than their "old school" counterparts, but good Lord. Titans is probably the one that has went down hill the most.

I know you're supposed to "torture your characters," but what's going on now is downright ridiculous. D:

...This is cute, though. Aren't they releasing a "new" Titans comics with the original five as the Teen Titans? With the old creative team? Or am I crazy?

It seems like something they started awhile back, never did, and now it's coming to life. Plus, MARV WOLFMAN OMG. Yes. Yes yes yes. Even if some of it was started back then, it's still NEW to us apparently (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

RIGHT? I'm way excited for this. I love all the Titans (well, mostly) and I -hate- that I don't even want to read the series that include them right now.

The only bad thing I can see is Terry Long :/ Other then that I'm excited. God look at Dick's and Donna's costumes. xDD They crack me up. Good times.

Can we get anyone who knows anything about the Titans to write them? That'd be great.

Yeah. The costumes are pretty epic. I'm glad it is like... OLD, old though... and no random retconning. It looks FUN. Which is what I like to read. I don't think some writers get that reading things that are "dramatic" can still be fun. It's just all sorrow and wangst and BLAH.

Also, check out Jericho. Remember when he was interested and HAD EYEBALLS?

It's true I mean Perez and Wolfman they actually had stuff that evoked REAL emotion out of people because it wasn't like the going on crap now which is just stupid.

Actually Jericho has his eyes back *nods* He was in the Blackest Night with his fam. He's all better now. I think he's going to be with his dad in the Titans mini that he's in because he said that his dad would be the only one who would do what they needed to do if he lost it again. So that was good...

I would guess that the 'NTT' version of the team is to blame. I mean, it was great stuff, but it completely changed the dynamic of the team - they went from being a smaller-scale 'teen gang' sort of group to being major players in the DCU, and in the process, lost some of what had previously been an essential part of their appeal, which started the ball rolling, as it were. It's similar to what happened to Wonder Woman - things changed so drastically after the initial run that people have been scrambling to recapture the initial magic of the character ever since, and usually failing.

It may be the certain scans posted but I kind of don't like that Donna says ONE thing in the beginning and then says nothing at ell even when she's being talked about right in front of her. She's an Amazon and should not be taking the back seat to bunch of preteens.
Other than that, can DC give us a trade-in? Where we trade in all the Titans issues we wasted money on and get some Showcase books or old NTT, NT or TT issues? Please?

Honestly I thought that too, she does make a few quips to Roy through out. But especially at the end I was like "really you're just going to stand there?" *shrugs*
