Ok, i can see a couple problems here . . .
1. I pretty sure that x-rays can't cook anything. I mean, I'm pretty sure anyway.
2. If those burgers were indeed cooked by x-rays, then they are now cancer burgers - way to go superman!

1) Yes they can, lethal X-Ray burns were being reported back in the 1920's

2) They'd be as likely to be anti-cancer burgers since they've just super-extreme radiotherapy, no?

I still wouldn't eat those burgers mind you... at least not until Superman can tell the different between his X-Ray and HEAT vision, which would be a darnisght more obvious.

Oh, that was just a silver age thing- it actually took a little while for Superman's heat vision to become a distinct power; for some time, it was just "the heat from his x-ray vision." Granted, I don't know how much x-rays work that way- I think it's possible to burn something with intense enough x-rays, but it was kind of stupid.

He could also make things glow green with his X-Ray vision! Which was an odd plot point in several stories. It was a multi-purpose power...

(OK, looking at one scan I was thinking of now, apparently it was XRay vision + luminous paint that creates glowing green, although I seem to remember other examples as well. Either way, to quote Superdickery, " ...that's not how X-Rays work")
