Oh, man. I was totally down with the art until that scan with Jealous Wally. What the hell happened to her face!?

Also, I liked that WG costume. Especially for the fact that it wasn't a bad retread of Diana's outfit that looked more like a swimsuit.

Oh yeah, I've always hated the starfield cleavage machine, I'd even trade it for the WW bathing suit look. It's beyond awful, but nobody seems to have what it takes to put her back into something that actually looks good. Donna's more than a pair of tits, people! And especially not a pair that keeps growing in successive incarnations to make Starfire feel inadequate!

...I may have issues here. Just sayin'.

I just want Donna back in red. Or why can't they put her in red and black!? But not like that disgusting thing they tried at the beginning of the current Titans run, but I mean like... something more aesthetically appealing, that hugs her chest but doesn't inflate her boobs to power girl level.

AND I KNOW. Starfire was supposed to have bigger boobs but then again every girl has a porn star body now in comics :'(

That's the thing, Donna never had the 3 kg implants until she switched to the starfield outfit (which I still maintain is godawful, as is everything she's worn since she ditched the red and gold outfit). Kory actually made sense in context, and thank Marv and George for providing us with the context and a few jokes based on it too. Hell, even characters like Power Girl make sense. But cripes, don't make EVERY DAMN WOMAN in comics into a DDD and then some, with a costume designed to show 95% of the skin on them!

I guess part of it is a rabid fear that if they put a girl in a cup size C or below, they'll get accused of having Lolita complexes.

I agree!! We even had Terra cracking jokes about Starfire's body being "bubbly." And agreed on the starfield -- the problem with it is that it's not transcendent of art styles. Sure, it looks good once in a blue moon when an artist is really putting details into making it not look like it's full of sequins, and making her hair blend in well, and getting the neckline just right ... but 90% of the time? Yeah, no.

She is mai waifu and I want her in something prettier >:|

Thing is, I always did like Donna, but it seems like hardly anyone knows what to do with her. I loved her mature relationship with Dick in the Perez/Wolfman Titans, which was one of the first places I really got to know her, and it always depresses me when I see her without that depth of character.

Can't say I've ever seen that one, but I can't say it thrills me any. Looks too much like any number of Image Comics heroines for my taste.

See, I LIKE these guys. They're fun, they're cool - I want to hang out with them. It'd be a gas. Somewhere along the line, the Titans have lost that, if you ask me - they should always be the cool, fun kids that you want to hang out with, not the snarky, snarly, growling, whiny, immature brats that they've been presented as lately. If that's progress, I'll take vanilla.

These are fun, thanks for posting. With the original Titan books and the early Perez/Wolfman run it seems as if the writers assumed that women were readers of the books too and took that into consideration. Sure they reflected the mores of the time, but Donna is a character that you could see a girl wanting to be like and not just an adolescent sex fantasy.
